LJ your post reads like a summary of life under Thatcher in the early 80's:eek: are you saying that call me Dave is looking for a return.

Edit: The football violence the other day was tame by comparison as wellicon7.gif

    Not at all. icon7.gif

I just think that all this downturn stuff has happened far too quickly. It appears there is a consensus that property prices overinflated, or inflated too rapidly. I'd be very surprised if the last 9 months or so is no more than a correction. I think there is more out there.

I wonder if there will be wider consequences to the troubles we've had in the past few months, and what the implications of that my be.

I think as it becomes a bit more dog-eat-dog, there will be more confrontation in society.

Take the football the other day, who were fighting the under 22's or did it look like you typical soccer thugs from the 80's/90's. Some were 40+.

    we didn't see any fighting
all we saw was fat 40+ year olds invading the pitch and then wondering what they were supposed to do next !
plus some grainy cctv footage outside the ground of fans goading police

all the real trouble in the back streets has not been seen, so we dont know who was involved yet

Inspector, I'm not in London, so only have the media to tell me. As you are likely to have seen the effects, can I ask was there significant damage/trouble whaich hasn't been reported?

The only time that will happen is when the benefits are removed (and I don't think the perps will have been bothered by a house price correction, or not)

BTW, congratulations in the extension of our rich British tradition. Well done that young man

A British teenager has become the youngest person ever to sail round the world after reaching the end of his epic voyage.

  • after 12 years of idiot lefty rule the country is ruined. their tenures in power ALWAYS end in disaster of some kind, usually economic. the UK will take centuries to recover from the spiteful acts taken by this govt.

Lefties should be allowed to discuss their stupid ideas in coffee houses, and the govt could even provide them with cardigans, lentils and sandals. however, they must be kept away from any ruling body.

they can't help but always make the wrong decision. even a simple question like "should we release a man who is CONVICTED of killing 270 people" they got the wrong answer.

If the country just had a resident lefty, and did the exact opposite of whatever the lefty said, we would be doing fantastically well.

Peace in our time and all that. The lefty - guaranteed to be 100% wrong, 100% of the time, or your money back*

*there won't be any money as the lefty will have squandered it.
