lift open market shared equity scheme

I read in the Metro this morning that the scheme was expanded with £5m hoping to help 100 people. It said something about working with house builders though so not sure if it's new build rather than open market? It said the trial last year was £2.5m but the open market trial was £20m so not sure exactly what they're doing.
But worth investigating now if you missed out last year!
My new home is working out really well and I'm so lucky to have got it through the scheme last year. I've even got a garden and am planning a veg patch :-)0 -

I bought a house with this scheme and wasn't offered any help with moving costs, but it's worth asking.
Good luck in the house hunt!0 -

also, does anyone know what the income thresholds are?0 -
I don't know if it's different this time around but when I did it last year I asked what the income thresholds were in case I wasn't eligable. But the answer I got from the solicitor was that there wasn't a definate cut off point but they just deem you as eligable based on individual circumstances ie earn too much to qualify for housing assistance but not enough to afford to buy your own home.
As for applying it depends where you live. In Edinburgh you need to contact Link Homes as they are the appointed administers for the region. Each region has a different company but they should be able to tell you the other companies if it's not them.
Good luck!!0 -
