I was in the same situation last year, I applied and they failed to tell me they'd run out of money. But thankfully they got more funding this year and I was approved the other week and have till September to get a place. Did you get approved in the end prs71?
I'm looking at £1,130 solicitor fees which seems high but its too late to shop around now. What fees have other people been quoted?
The flat I want has gone to closing date tomorrow so I'm really nervous. There's not much within budget if you want a nice area and its extra restrictive that you can't go over valuation price.
People say buying a property is one of the most stressful things you'll do and now I know why!
Good luck to everyone on the scheme! x0 -
I ended up paying around £1300 for my solicitors fees, but I was only given 4 weeks to find my property so I really didn't have time to shop around! Best of luck with tomorrow0

Thanks Trigger, its reassuring to know you paid about the same (or more actually!) I'd been asking for a quote on fees but only got it once I was too far through to find someone else.
I'm so nervous about tomorrow knowing I can only go above valuation by digging into my own pockets... which aren't very deep! The other person might have loads more.
Interesting to hear other people ended up not having to pay deposit as their agreement in principal was from before the change so the banks have honoured the original. My agreements are about 9 months old now though so not holding out much hope there. I'll be sure to raise the question though!!
Hopefully in a few weeks I'll be on the home improvement boards on MSE, looking to improve my shiney new flat...0 -
My offer was accepted!! Still got to do the paperwork and see the mortgage people but I'm very excited! I'd never have been able to do it without the lift scheme.
Good luck to everybody else too! x0 -

Good news to hear.
My solicitor bill was £0
They had a deal on at the time which allowed new home owners to use a £500 voucher.
I would have thought my bill would have been around the £1000 mark, but i had to pay nothing at all.2x £5 JD Voucher
I want my Sledge Book & DVD0 -

If they do it, it'll start in April 2011. Announcement likely to be in March going on this year.0
