  • No it`s not a santa break. It`s week and only acc+ flight . We are in Levilehto - by Levi.
It might be easier to book from UK ( in £).
Just wanted a few days to sky and someof the other activities, I`ve read so much about it that I am getting confused about it. I should write it down.
    Thanks for hyour advise.
  • lastminute.com have got some great deals to yllas and levi, self catering in Jan - check out the website and search under finland, leave all the other options blank to be able to bring up all the offers

Thanks for all of your advice and help. We are off to Yllas tomorrow - I'm just doing the last bits of research now. Kids still don't know that we're going! Very exciting. Please feel free to ask any questions which I will try and answer when we are back.

    Sara.o,

How was your trip to Yllas? We are off there on Sunday and I would love any handy tips you could pass on. I hope it went well, are you itching to
go back? Look forward to hearing how it went.

    Thanking you, Nichola
  • After a fabulous week (January 2010) staying in Yllas resort, I am on the hunt for another bargain having caught the Lapland bug! ..........Anyone found any good offers yet for the 2010/11 season?
  • N,

I looked into going for the day to Lapland, worked out to be about £1100 for three of us, that was with Espirit. Not sure if we will be able to do it financially this year but the plan is def to go next year! Looks lovely and I really fancy that freezing cold thing, have you found any bargains anywhere?

I would wait until mid dec to see what inghams and last min have 4 to 6 weeks prior to wanting to go is the best time to look in my experience - also - join Voyage Priv! as they often have good deals on too
  • Theres a Lapland voucher on www.nothing2lose.co.uk you pay £25 for it but it gives you 5% off plus theres a chance you might actually win it, looks like the odds are 80/1.
  • FANTASTIC !!!!!!

Just returned from 4 wonderful days in Rovaniemi.
Stayed at the absolutely idylic Log Cabins at the Sky Hotel, Ounasvaara.

If you could describe howthe perfect log cabin in a snow covered forest should look, they would be just that!

Went with Esprit, whose staff were faultless. They could honestly not do enough to help make the holiday run smoothly for everybody.

The entire 4 days were so magical, it has to be the best thing as a family we have ever done - worth every single penny.

Temp hit -31 of the morning we were leaving:eek:
we were so wrapped up though, we never actually felt uncomfortably cold.

thanks to everyone that offered their kind and helpful advice
Hi inspector monkfish, can you give me any advice regarding the sky cabins... I am booked to go there this december 2010 with my two children and elderly parents. I need to know if there is a supermarket close at hand, what the cabins are like, and how is the walk from the sky cabins to the hotel. Any advice, recommendations or plain facts regarding the accommodation be welcomed. thank you very much.
  • Well, I have been keeping an eye on lastminute.com and the prices seemed to be dropping.... but now it's full of day trips and the odd 7 night half board deal but no bargains.....Anyone had any luck yet?
  • Just bumping this up. Anyone found a bargain?
