Its a jizz anyway mate.
Just take the kids to your local shopping centre and pay a £5, they get to sit on Santas knee and get a naff toy whilst you perv over Santas little helper. (A female one obviously)
With the few hundred quid saved get a cheap Ryanair flight to a Christmas market in Germany. The kids are amazed by the sights and smells whilst you get hammered on cheap mulled wine.

Right
We have finally narrowed it down to 2 choices...
A 3night/4day trip with Esprit to either the Ounasvaara Cabins or the Sky Hotel (in a cabin in the grounds of the hotel hopefully), both at a similar price.:j
What would the experts recommend please?Please take the time to have a look around my Daughter's website www.daisypalmertrust.co.uk

Hi guys
I see that there are some helpful people when it comes to Lapland do was wondering if you can give me some advice?
Looking at going to Lapland in February/March time for a week to do all the activites, we have two kids age 6 & 13, I fancy a catered chalet but not sure if unrealistic? May sound like a stupid question but is Santa till there at that time?! Any deals/advice would be much appreciated as we've never been before, would also like a few days ski/boarding lessons for us all, thanks!0 -
Hi, I haven't been to Lapland yet and am currently waiting for a bargain to appear! I beleive in several of the resorts you can visit santa all year round, Yllas being one of them. Have a look on the Lapland resort information pages on Inghams website, it tells you what activities are and aren't available;
http://www.inghams.co.uk/ski-holidays/country/item6/lapland/, send off for their brochure too. Inghams also seem to put a few Lapland holidays on lastminute.com so might be worth a look, particuarly if you can fly from a range of airports.
Good luck with your planning.

Hi,
Those of you that have booked through Lastminute.com in the past, how did you book your extra excursions with Inghams, as there is not an option to do this on the booking screen with lastminute.com. I am reluctanat to wait until we get to resort incase they are sold out. Also if you have booked sking lesson, how do the trips fit in around these? We were planning to do the following;
Mini husky ride
Mini reindeer safari
Mini snow mobile safari
Santa's secret hideaway
Learn to ski 5 days (1 1/2 hrs tuition)
What do you think, too much, doable or not?
Thanking you all

I went to Yllas last January. The first 4 are definitely do-able. I'm not sure whether you'd be able to fit in the skiing too. It's dead easy to book the excusrsions, you don't even have to go through Inghams. There were other excursions available from private places there that combined things - EG a snowmobile safari to a husky farm.
They're not likely to sell out either.
When we were over there, cross country skis were included in the cost of our chalet, so we got a couple of lessons on them. They're pretty good and you can almost ski from your chalet around all the tracks.0
