yep, i'm starting to realise that !!Please take the time to have a look around my Daughter's website www.daisypalmertrust.co.uk

Ooh, just the thread i need!
We are trying for a trip to Finnish lapland for a sort of honeymoon break in feb next year but are on limited funds (£1000 inc spending money) for 3/4 nights or so.
At the moment all the ones i can find are santa trips!! and really expensive, we don't really mind about where we stay but any special offers would help, had my heart set on a log cabin but not sure if thats going to be out of our budget.
had a look on lastminute.com but they seem to be all for 7 days at the moment(which we can't do due to small baby!)
Any advice would be great, thanks in advance.
oh and needing car hire and not being told when booking may well kill us as neither of us can drive!!0 -
Meerdom, normally the 4 day trips are before Christmas Santa Breaks. The ones after are a week for skiing etc. Try activities abroad for shorter trips. Good luck for your honeymoon. No Matter what you do there will be critics.0

Ty, some of the full week prices are a bargain, but just can't do a week at the moment.
We have both always fancied lapland, but perhaps we should hold off this time, save up for a coulple of years again and wait untill our little boy is old enough to come with us!!0 -
Meerdom, I think that would be a very good idea, Lapland will still be there for you to enjoy with the little one in a few years. No Matter what you do there will be critics.0

We stayed there must be 2 years ago now on a late deal, hotel unknown when we booked. This hotel was very good. You can use it as a base for the area of Levi which is all in walking distance. Hotel food and accomodation excellent. Heated underfloor in the bathroom, rooms spacious, very clean. You have to put your coats on (cause its sooooo cold !) to go into the main dining area and pool club area but thats not so bad as you may catch the northern lights as you walk outside (we did!). Alcohol is expensive full stop in Finland but I still chuckle when I remember our husky dog sledging and the reindeer racing we did. Its a magical place. Go - you will not be disappointed...no other holiday can hope to compare and I have been on many ski holidays, this is unique - skiing is not up to much but there is soooooo much more to do. A great place.Thank you to everyone who has helped me MoneySave0
