It is more then likely after reading this that you will want Thomas Sanderson blinds. Email me on true_blue_09@hotmail.com as I still have the contact number for a fantastic sales rep who is very knowledgeable and friendly from Thomas Sanderson as he did one of my conservatories for me.
This is the giveaway. Large companies assign areas to their reps so how do you know that your recommended rep covers my area - unless of course you work for Thomas Sanderson's and have a long list of reps.
When I purchased pleated roof blinds I did my homework. All fabric used is sourced from a few specialist mills in Europe, which all blind companies use.Thomas Sanderson, like all the other companies then make this up into blinds.
The quality of the product comes in the cutting and making of the blinds; and there is absolutely no way a Thomas Sanderson product is worth 5 to 10 times more than that produced by my supplier who was a small independant family run company that prided themselves on individual attention to the customers needs.0 -

Well I have properties all over the country and when I need blinds for the conservatories I call the rep and he arranges to meet me, I have asked if he is nationwide to which his response was no - they can send the rep for that area or they can attend the appointment themselves.
I'm not in a position to comment about the materials but I know that quality differs in the industry.
Oh and no I dont work for Thomas Sanderson, I'm a part time property developer with my brother and full time post graduate medical student.0 -
we had a TS rep come round today to give us a price for patio awnings (3x5m sq) with built in lights and heaters. They quoted an initial price and then kept reducing it with additional discounts. The rep made a couple of phone calls which all seemed very fasle (i'm sure there was no one at the other end). I finally got them down to £5k which i was told by the rep would never be accepted but the nhad a phonecall from the regional rep telling me he was authorising it. I'm sure ot's still over priced and hate the fact that there is no transparency in their pricing. Can anyone offer any advice as to whether they think we could still bargain them down or of we're getting a fair price?0

If I was you I would just walk away from the whole deal and go to a local company that doesn't use these stupid tactics of giving you a supposed "special deal" or "discount". Why can't they just give a the proper price initially and cut out all that faffing around? In my experience any company that uses this type of selling should be avoided. What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?0 -
I have heard little here that would make me want to buy blinds from Thomas Sanderson. Yes, Argos do have 'sales' which aren't really sales - but I can go to the shop and have a look and freely compare them to elsewhere. They don't come round my house and give me a load of fake prices which they then discount. Boots have sales where things are reduced from ridiculous rrp's, but they don't offer me another 30% off if I buy it today.
On a google search on Thomas Sanderson blinds, this forum comes up third - I can only think that Sanderson's staff have been a-googling and thought they would join in. I suspect that the salesmen are on hefty commissions which accounts for the ridiculous high price they initially suggest.
There have been changes to the consumer law recently. Even if you invited the salesman into your home, a 7 day cooling off period now applies. You can cancel any order or work over £35 within 7 days - as long as it has not started or been delivered.

Once again we have someone joining and making a first post praising a company that has had less than favourable reviews.Do these companies, when they get their staff to post on these boards think we are all idiots.0 -

Perhaps they earn commission on the number of favourable reports they post on boards like this. What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?0 -
If any company is desperate enough to post bogus reviews on sites such as this then it tells me that either
a) It does not have many positive reviews from real customers, in which case I will take my business elsewhere, or
b) Their business is not going well and need to create bogus reviews, in which case I will not chance my hard earned money, and shop elsewhere.0
