Ive been taking my time going to various bed stores - mainly smaller independent family ones trying to find a decent double mattress.
I like the pocket sprung with a memory foam topping and so far found this one is comfy, but not finally decided - keep saying Im not in any rush - but if I keep waking up with backache like I did this am after a lie in Il be ordering one sooner!

Your link has very little info, but I've found one that gives more of the spec: http://www.justclickbeds.com/docs/Millbrook/Millbrook-ImpressionAllure-Mattress.html0 -

Reflex foam only mattresses don't give anywhere near as good support as pocket sprung. And they can be hot and sweaty.
Sorry - not sure what happened to the link. £200 for the mattress http://bed-world.com/acatalog/4ft6_Double_Sleepeezee_Brompton_Mattress.html#a46m200 -
Hi can anyone give me some advice on a memory foam topper, I recently purchased a Kozee sleep orthopedic divan and mattress and I have had nothing but a terrible nights sleep ever since, way too hard for me but a lovely looking bed, so was thinking of a memory foam topper to alieviate the hardness just not sure which to get without spending a fortune.Thriftkitten

I am looking into buying a memory foam mattress. Have always bought cheap cheap spring mattresses in the past and the last one has onyl managed 2 years - is now uncomfortable to sleep in and also my bed is very noisy when DH and I are "ahem".... We are wondering if we can get away with just replacing the mattress or do we need a better bed too. The bed is a latted base, pine bed from Argos so no doubt was cheap too!Me debt free thanks to MSE :T0

Dear all,
First post so please go easy on me :-) after reading and getting bogged down in posts regarding which mattress to choose i thought it might me easier to just post a message to get some feedback on my choices.
After trawling arround every bed shop in Oxfordshire, being comletly bewildered with choice i have narrowed it down to the list bellow, does anyone have any opinions, horror stories or praise?
Need a kingsize, Medium firm mattress, like the idea of the foam top ones but have heard they get toastie and i do get hot, I am also a bit worried about buying something from dreams after reading some posts!
Dreams Chaucer
Dreams Raphael
Harrison Rubby
Vi-Spring (cant remember the exact one but i thing it was about 1500!)
Sleep to Live 7 (green)
Don't mind spending a bit of money on it if it's going to good, worth it, last and isnt a marketting ploy or sales pitch.
Please please please help i am completly indecisive and need help.
Many thanks in advance

If you want to make the mattress feel softer, then the best option might be a reflex foam topper. This would be far cheaper than memory foam. Memory foam moulds to your body rather than making the mattress feel soft.0 -

Without seeing your bed it would be impossible to tell.
Does the bed creak, or is it just the mattress springs?0 -
Anyway, thinking of going for something like this bed http://www.bed-world.com/acatalog/4ft6_Double_Birlea_Denver_Bedstead_in_Antique_Pine.html with this mattress http://bed-world.com/acatalog/4ft6_Double_Sleepeezee_Brompton_Mattress.html#a46m20 Any comments - does that sound reasonable? An OK-looking bed and mattress for £330.0

Can you tell me the difference between reflex foam and memory foam, I have seen a few of both on ebay and other stores but didnt know the difference, I did have a full memory foam mattress a few years ago which was lussshhhh but my pug hopped up and had a wee and had to chuck it out which was a pretty expensive spend of a penny, but you know animal pee smells foul so had to chuck it!Tim_Deegan wrote: »If you want to make the mattress feel softer, then the best option might be a reflex foam topper.
