Its a shame you didnt ask before you went and bought the car, I hope others arent like you God help us we have enough non insure drivers as it is and we pay extra on our insurance to cover them, money many of us could afford to do without on top of normal insurance

The fact your husband had just bought the car and was driving it home doenst have any relevance on the matter, dont you watch them police shows like the 1 on channel 5 called police interceptors as they encounter drivers who have no insurance and get so many points for it

I know a bloke (he's a complete t*sser aswell) who has no licence (disqualified) but pays out for insurance on the cars he drives :rotfl:

He says does it so he has less chance of getting pulled over.

Sorry, not what the thread's about i know.
  • 2. Driving with no MOT is illegal ( except driving to a pre-booked MOT test ).

    5. You must have valid insurance and MOT in order to buy a tax disc.

    2. and home again if it has failed.
    5. only if the car is 3 years or old.

!!!!!! if your going to be all high and mighty and not leave it open to debate get the full facts right.

    heres another one:
dont drive a friends car on your insurence if they still have payments outstanding, this can catch you out as your insurence company often wont cover you for such cars.

Only if the car is on finance and not at bank loan.

Thanks for being so hair-splittingly precise, and I not do take kindly to people swearing at me ( yes, I know what !!!!!! stands for ). Perhaps you should take note of your own signature.

This is incorrect. I think Dave is confusing the finance aspect with the wording in the Policy Documents. Most comprehensive policies that do have Driving Other Cars Extension say something like:

"The Policyholder may drive a vehicle not belonging to him/her and not hired to him/her under a hire purchase/lease agreement."

What that is saying is that you can drive another car (even if on finance) but not another car that you personally owned or have on HP/lease.
    The man without a signature.

    yes it does, ding dong............

Why was he stopped, well, you don't get stopped for nothing do you???, let's see, I were driving an uninsured car would make sure I did nothing to warrant being stopped...

Safety of other people on the roads and not driving in a way that warrants being STOPPED, clear now?

So you were there then, you actually know why the OP's Husband was stopped, sorry I must have missed that..

I think that you must have a glass ball to be able to make that statement.

    Highly presumptuous.. ;)

He probably got stopped cos the computer in the police car alerted them as it being uninsured. Well, that's if it's all as high tech as they say on them programmes :D
