They only collect mine every fortnight!!

Recycling and the general management of housefhold waste is straight forward. Its important to look after the environment you know :D I even cycle to work and the shops on occasion!

Who'd of thought such exemplarly behaviour from a tw*t the needs to use the word 'suck' to express himself!

hey, decisions about pay, pensions, when bins are collected, what job roles should be available are down to people much, much higher up than the people your slagging off on here, we applied for a job, and we do the job and get paid for it, i fail to see why we should be subjected to this for simply doing a job??

a high majority of council workers and civil servants dont get paid £500 a week , have 7 months annual leave and a final salary pension worth £50k, believe it or not we pay NI and tax to, as well as the same amount of council tax etc as everyone else.

You dont join the civil service to get rich, and my dad is forever telling me to get a 'proper job'. Im in the middle of a degree studying part time and need this job to pay for it, and believe me i want out quick as poss, its not the fantastic place people think it is.
what would you like us to do, resign?

If only you'd done a degree in something useful i.e. not Golf Studies, History or Art, etc. then you wouldn't have found yourself in this predicament.
  • Anyone else here finding the common traits with the council workers amusing?

Personally I couldn't give a toss about "the environment". Most of it is just an excuse to tax us more.

All very laudable of course, but completely nullified by the fact that you don't actually PRODUCE anything in these non-jobs.

    ;)

just cost to the tax payer. that is what these cretins don't understand. they add nothing but cost. and if they go over budget, they just get a bigger budget the next year as reward for their incompetency.

i heard an interview with a social worker. she said they set aside a day and a half to write up notes from a one hour meeting. typical public sector insanity. If i am in a one hour meeting, the note takes no more than 15mins - or maybe 30-40 if it is extremely complex.

so, what is the social workers idea to sort it out? become more efficient? hahahah, of course not. just employ more people. how does that work? this new person will write about a meeting they weren't at???

lets have a meeting, a qango, another meeting, etc etc....

For me, it is better to own than rent. My monthly mortgage payments (capital & interest) are a third of what I'd pay if I were to rent a similar flat.
    Oh goodness, give me strength.
My point was about whether renting was dead money and my response was that mortgage interest is dead money too. What on earth has capital repayment got to do with it?

Your mortgage payments are only so small because either 1.) you're on a tracker/SVR that is low because of low current BoE rates or 2.) You have large equity/deposit which is subsidising the mortgage.
