So far we've booked venue & caterer, registrar & have appointment to give notice, arranged with my (chef) friend that she is doing our cake (but sort out details nearer the time) and got a dress appointment this coming weekend.
We also are planning to send out "Save the Date's" with xmas cards. Have bought some magnectic printer paper - so they are going to be homemade.....=====================================

We're getting married 3rd September, venue booked, church is a total nightmare so trying to sort that first. We have been attending a pentacostal church every sunday for a year, and we've been told our wedding is 'not a cause for celebration' as we're an 'unsaved' couple (both live with my parents), and so we're thinking of going elsewhere, where we can actually feel happy rather than ashamed of our wedding.Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008
Debt September 20th 2022 £2991.68- 96.92% paid off0 -
Can I join?
Getting married 10th September 2010.
So far, booked ceremony venue and reception venue, booked registrar, given notice, booked harpist and transport.
Next on list is photographer but not sure where to start as very confusing with different pacakges and prices
Will then look at florists, sort BMs dresses to get colour scheme and then prob my dress in New Year0 -
Dinah93 - twin! (as they would call us on here). If I was getting married in a church that took that attitude with me, I'd be swiftly telling them where they can stick their views. Ahem. Not that a church of any type would actually welcome me at all, mind :-D
Good luck with finding a different church - it's important that you feel happy and comfortable with them.
Just waiting on written confirmation of my negotiations from my venue now to confirm the final price, then will sign for that. New registrar appointment booked (as we've changed our ceremony venue) for later this month and some of the entertainment organised for the evening.
Lots still to do, bought some martini glass vases the other day for my centrepieces, now have to decide how to fill them!0 -
Popped into our venue today and put a deposit down, so that's that formalised...
Found some fab candles in the Christmas section (of all places) in Ikea last week so have bought them to go in the Martini glasses - does anyone know where I can find a large amount of silver sand?
Registrar appointment (2nd one..) is on Tuesday, to sort the proper notice out for the new venue. Have found a good local DJ (comes recommended!) and have organised some entertainment for the evening.
Save the date postcards arrived from Vistaprint (£4 for all of them!) the other day; they'll be going out with Christmas cards. The cards to request people to go to our website to upload their photos have also arrived (£3 from Vistaprint for 250... far more than we need), so the table bits and pieces are slowly coming along.0 -
Hi All,
I'm 11th Sept 2010. I was looking for a Sept '10 thread! So far we've given notice to marry, paid a deposit on the venue and evening venue, my mum has ordered my dress and I'm about halfway through making all the invites...0 -
I ordered my dress at the weekend. Very exciting :-)
After 2 bridal shop appointments - so thats 4 hours (v.tiring!) of trying on dresses that were all lovely .... I put one on that was just WOW.
I am so excited about it that I am itching to tell my groom all about it .... but I can't - Dress will be a secret until the big day!=====================================
