On a gifty theme, I have a bit of a moral dilemma: OH keeps banging on about how he hates birthdays and they're a big con by the greetings card companies etc etc. It's his 30th coming up and I have a few ideas of nice things I can get him, that he would appreciate - new walking boots and such. But he says all he wants is to be taken out for a nice meal in his favourite restaurant, and he'll be angry at me if I get him something. But I'll feel terrible not getting him anything! And does he really mean it? I should just get him nothing really, serve him right for being so un-cooperative! What do you think?
ETA - I imagine Dinah that once you've seen a few venues they'll all start to merge into one, but like you say with houses, you'll probably get a feel for the place.
ETA again - have you received the necklace yet? You'll have to let us know what it's like!Weightloss: 14.5/65lb0 -
Only ordered the necklace today, so nope, not yet!
I'd get him the boots, they're useful, but not anything thats a treat! I'd also make it clear you want a fuss made on your birthday because you do like them!Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

Oo, might have to steal that idea for my Grandads birthday Tete! He's always potting around the Garden.
How fantastic is Etsy though? I always struggle with things for my Dad (if he wants something he'll just go buy it) but I've already found 3 things on Etsy he'd love.0 -

Hehe, all our families are going to be getting the same pressies at this rate!
TBH I can't often find anything on EtsyI do like the thing where you click a colour and it finds things for you though!

Oh no, he's great when it comes to me, his pressies are always brill and he makes an effort - that's why I feel so bad! Problem with boots is that I'd need him to try them on and choose them really himself so can't really spring it on him. Might put some money in the card and refuse to take it back...Weightloss: 14.5/65lb0 -
Link them lets see the finds! I'm distracting myself from house buying by fantasy present shopping.
I adore Etsy, plan to get most of my house decoration stuff from it. I'm gradualyl buying little prints and original paintings, going to make a sort of framed collage of them on one wall in my house.Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008
