Hmmm thats a positive. I get really bad cramps, which is why I switched from tampons to the mooncup, somehow it really helps, now I'm just very uncomfortable as opposed to mumbling and wincing!

The pill definitely helps with pains, I forgot how painful periods are till I came off it again. WAs used to it just being a mild inconvenience.

I feel your pain with the cramps!

I have heard wonderful things about the mooncup! Some women trying for a baby use them after doing the deed (maybe that is TMI). Nice to see it has a double usage!

Crikey CMD, You're coming out with some right facts today!

I feel like such a fake girl, my periods aren't that bad at all. No major stomach cramps and it only lasts 3 - 4 days. My only problem is I get so grumpy and short-tempered, but OH says I try so hard to be nice during my TOTM I'm actually nicer then than I am the rest of the month! :o The Cheek.

  • Hello everyone! Been working like an absolute trojan this morning and getting lots crossed off my list :D But have missed all the girlie chat! Here's my two'pennuth:

CMD - well done on the debtbusting, you must feel brilliant!

Food & exercise - Zig, I think those girls are slim BECAUSE they offset what they eat with exercise. I have to say I've always tried to do a bit of exercise so that I can eat what I want, but recently it had been creeping on (though I knew I was over eating) so that's why I'm counting calories for a while, once I'm happy with my weight I'm really looking forward to upping my calories!!

As I've said, I work at a uni and get very cheap gym membership which includes all classes and TBH the classes are what I prefer - I do pilates and something called Body Conditioning which is lots of small but intensive repetitions of sit ups and stuff. The main thin though is that OH and I go walking almost every weekend, usually up a big hill/mountain and never shorter than 8 miles.

Weigh-in - I'm still at 10:6, but TOTM and feeling a bit heavy and bloated so hopefully will be a loss next week.

Ladies' things: Dinah, yikes that's awful, you should go to the docs! I find I don't get really bad cramps but (TMI alert) I do have probs 'going to the loo' when I'm on and get really bad pains and cramps from that :( It's worse in a way!

Contraception: I agree Dinah I don't worry about whether or not the pill is going to make me infertile, que sera sera and all that. I was on for about 5 years then had about 3 years break when I was single and been back on about 18 months. Condoms are not an option for us as OH is hung like an arab stallion and you have to literally wrestle them on, so that's annoying if I miss a pill as we end up having to go without.

I think that's me caught up. Had a go on the sewing machine last night - wrangled with the bloody thing to the point of almost throwing it through the window - could not get it threaded right at all. Did a bit of a search on the internet and managed to download the manual, and discovered my machine is from 1967!! Managed to thread it and sew some lines but by then I was so exhausted I just collapsed into bed! So Dinah I've done no homework for tonight!

I tried to do a bit of neatening up my samples but not much luck. And by that I literally mean straightening the edges with scissors and sticking them in the book! Least tonight is just watching her make an item start to finish. Meet in the lobby at quarter to?

Have you ever tried the XL condoms Tete? Not the durex ones, they're still teeny, but the american company ones? If you're in Arab stallion territory unlikely to help, I've found some men just find them more comfy (and an ego boost!), still don't fit NIM mind! I think there is a definite gap in the market, but I'm not about to fill it (no pun intended) as I can't say the word 'condom' out loud without blushing!

Have joined that baby and bump forum you recomended CMD, this is not going to help my broodyness! I have to stay strong and sensible as NIM has already gone to the dark, fertile side!

That comment has so completely put me off the sausage roll I was going to go and get for my dinner :( Just me and my choco squares now!

I forgot to ask earlier, has anyone looked at the 5.1% Savings account? I'm was tempted to get it to set up as my 'moving account' but the 5 years lock in is way too long and I'm not sure how the interest penalty works.

Oh yeah, money, I knew we chatted here for a reason.

I thought the 5.1% account you could withdraw money at 90 days notice?
