Cinny and Wendz, I think that it is a good idea not to carry on with the challenge if you're happy enough how you are. Don't wanna get too skinny!
I need some girl's opinions on something.
At the beach uni trip yesterday we all went to the chip shop, and I just had chips. Everyone else had either sausage and chips or fish and chips. But thoughout the afternoon they were all saying 'ooh I'm gonna have to go for a run now' and one girl was on the phone to her Dad and mentioned that she had fish and chips, and her Dad obviously said something cuz she said 'yeah Dad, I'm gonna go for a run'.
They are all skinny girls who have lovely figures, and I didn't understand why they just didn't enjoy the food and be like 'ok, that's my treat, back to healthy eating'. I didn't get why they all felt the need to go for a run to like cancel it out.
So I was saying to OH am I the weird one cuz I don't exercise after every unhealthy thing? I guess that's why I'm fat and they're not. But it just seemed weird to me. They were skinny, they should just be able to enjoy their food! I should be the one going for a run after every meal!Total Debt (Dec 2015) £11,500 : Currently £7,675Lose 21lb : 0/21

I guess the worry is if they don't offset it they won't stay skinny! However one treat as part of an otherwise balanced diet is not the end of the world! I don't exercise to make up for eating badly, but I do eat a smaller tea or lunch to claw back some calories. For example, yesterday I only had 503 cals all day, but then I had a 800 cal pizza for dinner. Pizza was bad but fitted into the whole day I still didn't go over my net calorie mark.Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

I think I may have to give up on the weight challenge too as don't think I am unhappy enough to have the motivation.
That is bad about the periods Dinah. I was on the pill for years but came off a couple of months ago as have heard stories of people on the pill for ages not being able to concieve so giving my body a break. My periods are all over the place now though.
I would never go back on the pill again after coming off it. My periods came back to normal and everything but my OH can use protection when the baby is born. He doesn't mind anyway.
From the baby forums I am on it seems that some GP's think that you can actually be quite fertile just after you come off the pill? It certainly worked out that way for a few of my friends!!! I came off the pill 5 months before we started trying.
A lot of people that are trying for a baby say that the implant or the pill has messed them up. But something called the depro vera (sp?) is the one a lot are giving out about. It seems to take ages for people's cycles to get back to normal.Total (Aug 19):€58,567 Now:€26,947

I think they are nuts to be honest! I would never and have never calorie counted. I just walk everywhere and if I was putting on weight I would up the exercise. I wouldn't go running to offset a bar of chocolate though, but I might go walking the next dayI suppose what I am trying to say (in a round about way) is that I have never dieted but always been quite active. I would never eat a chocolate bar and think - I must go walking to get rid of that!

That's the injection that I've just come off. Sounds like it's normal that I haven't had a period yet then!
Dinah, sounds like you've got your eating sussedI just seem to binge.. I'm trying to persuade OH at the moment to come swimming at the weekend.
ETA: That sounds sensible CMD. It's so obvious that if I did regular exercise the weight would come off so quickly. Its just getting out there and doing it. What exercise do you girls do? I love swimming but OH doesn't. The main [STRIKE]reasons[/STRIKE] excuses I come out with are that I don't have time, money (swimming, classes) and that it's cold. All are true-ish, but I could get round them all!Total Debt (Dec 2015) £11,500 : Currently £7,675Lose 21lb : 0/21

That is true Dinah about the pill, for some reason I get paranoid though and have been on it about 8 years. The pill is definitely good at sorting out your periods. Mine were so much shorter and less painful and only once a month.
Zig - unfortunately most skinny people aren't naturally that skinny and have to work at it a lot to keep that way. I prefer to be a little bit bigger and enjoy myself personally! Just do what makes you happy, no point in being skinny but miserbale.0 -

There is a Waiting To Try section on this forum and you might get more info about the injection there:

I just tend to walk everywhere and when I move I will be doing pregnancy yoga. What about going for a brisk walk with your OH every evening? I enjoy that and it is great for having a good chat about things as there are no distractions!Total (Aug 19):€58,567 Now:€26,947

Zig - I just try and stay as active as I can rather than setting time out to exercise. Do you have a friends dog you could borrow? Dog walking is always good exercise!
About the pill/implant - I won't use either. It's not the stories about people not getting pregnant afterwards that puts me off. Just a moral thing really, at the end of the day you're putting something into your body that completely alters your bodys natural course, and I'm not too hot on that!0 -

Depo is evil. I had that once and I was a complete monster and my periods were completely doolally. I would love not to have to take the pill but condoms are not an option at all for us, NIM finds them far too restrictive , whereas I seem to have a low level allergy! Plus I've got a friend who fell pregnant while using them, 97% effective is just not high enough for me!
I really think I need to go back and talk to the doctor, also need to discuss how long I need to be on different blood pressure tablets before TTC. It can take as much as two years for you to change tablets, so I need to know if I should look to swap sooner or if its out of your system in a month or what have you.Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

You should defo check out the link I posted Dinah. It might be good to chat to other ladies that are waiting to try. I joined it before I started trying and there were some wonderfully supportive people on there
The only reason I ever went on the pill was because my period pains were horrendous (like lots of other women). Childbirth is supposed to sort that out though, stretches things apparently???????????Total (Aug 19):€58,567 Now:€26,947
