Oooh if our Maldives excursion ends up with one of those companies Birdie I will be knocking on your virtual door!
Knock away! There's 11% off Kuoni, 10-13% off Virgin, 12% off Thomas Cook etc... always worth a try to see if it works out cheaper than online!

I agree completely Birdie - i dont particularly like my best friends boyfriend but i dont say anything because she quite clearly likes him. Shes always got a snide comment for everything. And while i dont condone violence at all, shes pretty lucky shes not male because im pretty sure OH would have lost it by now had it been a guy saying things like that to me.
The messages just come out the blue though for no reason, last time i saw her in person was when there was a group of us at another friends house because she had just had a baby, i was saying how cute the baby was, OH commented that i better not get any ideas - her comment "god you would be mad if you had kids with her". Its just completely unneeded.
Sorry for the rant but she makes my blood boil!

Ooooh I like Kuoni. So how do you use these codes if not online? I know Thomas Cook do shops, but Kuoni and Virgin don't?!

It sounds like she may have strong feelings towards your OH. One of my friends had an instant dislike to OH, although it wasn't as bad as this and I couldn't understand (as everyone likes my OH cos he is very chatty and extrovert) until a friend pointed out that he had feelings towards me. Over the years it has calmed down and he seems happy for us now.

It was never to that vicious level though, more like the odd snipe here and there.

Hello all! And congratulations CMD! A baby in our clan, how exciting!
Been in a meeting all morning, new job starts on Friday (randomly!) so we've been figuring out a plan of action which basically means working 8-5 next week and maybe even later until everything is sorted and people know what they're doing- I may be quiet!
Funnily enough last night OH and I actually made a little headway with the wedding planning- I found our work benefits book and we get 7% off Thomson holidays and 10% off First Choice off the brochure price, including published early booking discounts so we can book the wedding as soon as the brochure for Feb 2011 comes out and get early booking discount and the extra money off! Whoop! There are loads of travel companies listed and it allows friends and family to take advantage of the offers so if anyone wants any more info you know where I am!
Oooh, and I think it'll be really nice if you get married the same day as your parents did Dinah, it worked for them! As long as they don't feel that you're stealing their thunder!

How exciting! Have you decided where you want to get married yet?

I agree sounds like she is jealous or she would just be quiet for the sake of him. I always think people who are that openly horrible must be jealous or something otherwise why does your life affect them so much.

I am just watching Bridezillas on the wedding channel, very funny!

Gosh Flower, I don't know what your problem is. She sounds lovely ;) Seriously though, I agree with CMD. Sounds like she has a crush going on! But what a complete cow!!

Congrats on the baby CMD - You'll have us all getting broody next! Nice to have you back though, wondered where you'd gotten too!

Only been at work for an hour and I'm worked up! Still have a bunch of bank magazines in my bag so I've got something to flip through.. either that or I go have a nap?

On the bright side, pancakes for tea tonight! Yum!

Flower, feel free to have a good rant! I agree with what everyone else says! She's obviously a bit jealous and nasty and doesn't know that 'if you can't say anything nice, then don't say anything at all!' The best thing to do is not get involved in any sort of exchange if possible. Grr, horrid!

Luckily i am quite restrained when it comes to things like that. And of course i know it makes her look like the horrible one when she says all these things, i just sit there gritting my teeth smiling.
I've only lost it with her once and unfortunatly i had had quite a lot to drink so wasnt my usual restrained self - im ashamed to say i threw a drink over her :o
