Average spent on a wedding in the UK Cinny is £22k! Basically if you're on a lower budget you have two options, go to a village hall or cricket club or something for the reception or go abroad!
Our current favourite remains the very fancy one we'd have to have on a weekday, but a close second is this one, which is cheaper and there is still one Saturday left for next September. The grounds are lovely, although the room is quite bland. That said we could probably make it better with some kind of decoration.
Wynyard Hall is beautiful. So is the other one but I can see the draw for the first one. What is the difference in prices for them both?
It is difficult when you have a specific budget but you have to choose the one that you will feel like a princess in. If you can still feel like that in the cheaper one, then I say go for that!
What date are you looking for again? Is it around Feb 2011?

I am very well Tete! Morning sickness is gone and energy has returned. OH started his new job today as well so we should be able to start tackling the debts! We came to Edinburgh yesterday and I am going home to Ireland on Wed. My lovely boss is allowing me to work from home in both places this week. She is so nice

About 2.3k difference. Plus Judges is a Saturday and Wynyard would be a weekday.

Kind of don't care about the princess thing, yes Wynyard does that but its just one day, and its an insane amount of money when we don't have a house and want to start a family in the next few years.

September 2010.

Were they in the little room in the main house, or the self contained building, the old stables I think it is off to the right. The Stables building is what we are looking at, has its own bbq area and outside seating, lovely if it is nice weather. But the inside building is a very standard room I think, it was hard to guess really since it was partitioned off and it might feel completely different if it was set up properly. But we just walked into Wynyard and went WOW, no excuses, it was just stunning.Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

If your not bothered about the princess thing and are worried about the price being too expensive & it being midweek then what is it that is still making you consider Wynyard hall?

Judges (I think) is were my sister had her wedding reception. The reception was in the stables and we were only in the main house for the rooms and breakfast.
The grounds were beautiful though.0 -
Because its just amazing, and I would like the whole insanely elegant beautiful day, just I don't want it enough to pay out nearly an extra £3k for it! I just keep reminding myself its just one day, the important thing is everyone is going to be there to celebrate with us no matter where and when it is, and Judges was lovely, I think I maybe just need to go back when its actually set up for a wedding. Still have a lot of other places to see though so who knows.Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

I think it must've been the self contained bit though I didn't realise it, they had a barbacue and it was a lovely day and there was seating out in a little wooded gazebo type thing. They had party games on the lawn - giant Jenga and the like.
I think I'd feel a bit uncomfortable being a 'princess' to be honest!Weightloss: 14.5/65lb0
