God what have I started. The ladies of the thread going home demanding massages from partners and OHs.
  • You know you'll have to oblige your wife now Poolie (if she's not off gallivanting around the world), you can't instigate a wave of massage treats across the country and not do the same yourself!

Do you know how hard it was to make that sentence not contain the phase 'give her one'?! :D

Mine tends to offer, and I turn him down nine times out of ten. Guess I'm lucky.

People at work are being a pain. At my boss' bbq last week we decided on where to go for our christmas do. Now the two women who werent there are kicking up a fuss saying they don't want to go there, and they've found a deal on a fixed price menu with disco afterwards. The menu is beyond boring and dated (soup/melon, roast, then gateaux) and costs £20. And am I the only person who thinks an organised disco is tacky?! Plus its in the middle of nowhere so everyone would have to drive. If they do suceed in getting it moved I don't think I will be going, paying £20 for a horrible lot of food and being forced to stand sober and dance with work colleagues (partners not invited, neither of these women's would come so no one else gets to bring one either) is just not something I'm going to be involved in!

You're very lucky! Me and my OH are really romantic... we only use massages as something to trade! Usually he puts the bin out and so he gets a massage.

Your colleagues sound awkward Dinah. I wouldn't wanna go either! Can you not do a vote and just out vote them? :D

  • Sounds like the last work party I went to Dinah, however our team is a team in its own right now and a lot nicer than the people we used to have to go out with. When we were at the races the other week I made the mistake of saying how much I'd love to go to the dogs and my boss jumped on it and decided we'd do that for Christmas ... and guess who's in charge of organising it?! Me and my big mouth!

Right I'm off, I'm sick to death of this place (work not the thread!!) - have a good weekend everyone! xxx

Hello all! I finally I get a chance to get on here and no doubt everyone's gone home! I'm still at work till 6- boo!

It looks like I've missed all the Bruges booking fun, good job really as I could be very easily swayed, I've sent that link to the super pretty B&B that Zig (???) is staying in as it may be a nice little getaway next year! I'll need reviews!

Your planned christmas do sounds very much like the one thrown by my company Dinah! They even have party games- how fun! Suffice to say I do not go! My little team generally just go out for a meal and a 'few' drinks instead!

Anyone got any nice plans for the weekend? I'm hoping mine will be a quiet one!

Hello Birdie, I'm still here! just...

I very nearly got carried away with the Bruges-booking extravaganza too! I almost gave Poolie some dates for the beginning of December before I remembered that I'm going to Africa a few weeks later and that would just be greedy! (And not very MSE at all, oh no)

I'm hoping for a quiet weekend too :) I feel like I haven't stopped this week. Went to see Ray LaMontagne last night at the Albert Hall which was amazing, but didn't enjoy getting home at 1am and an early start this morning zzzzzz!!

Hope the next half hour flies by, Birdie, enjoy your weekend!

My weekend is going to be pretty quiet. Might be going to a museum and lunch with OH and his mates tomorrow but apart from that no plans.

Crikey! I leave the thread for one afternoon and I come back to nothing but pages and pages of train times... Hope everyone has had a nice afternoon though!
I don't know whether this is just because it's a cheapo one or whether it's the design of them in general though..?

I think it's just because it's a cheap one! I had a really cheap plastic one that was near useless. I have one like this and it's fab.

Sounds ruddy horrible if I'm honest! Our company can't have christmas parties anymore because at the last one my Uncle stripped to 'You can leave your hat on' and I think we're pretty much blacklisted everywhere within a 5 mile radius... all I remember facing the wall and not finishing my meal.

The so called 'perfect' flat is not so perfect. Only 1 parking space so we can't go! Argh! After a tad more searching I found this which looks near on perfect (again) 4 out of the 6 people going are happy with it, just OH and my brothers Girlfriend to check it over! Check out the kitchen though!
