  • Well done Ruby - I'm quite missing BB now my month is up!

Seems like our snow has finally decided to melt a bit doesn't it - I can hear it dripping all over the place outside. Good thing too!

The ice is the real problem EH! They haven't bothered to grit anywhere near my road so going to work is a hilarious feat. Speaking of work off I go for a 14 hour shift on Christmas Eve!

  • Thanks for the Christmas wishes everyone!

I now have a cold/flu bug which has made Christmas so enjoyable (not!) To make matters worse, I didn't get any sleep Christmas Eve so felt so rough going into work on Christmas day. Apparently I could have left at around 11 because I was so ill but no one bothered to tell me, so when I found out about it at 2pm, I just burst into tears in front of everyone! Now I am so bunged up it is untrue and coughing my guts up too. Supposed to be in work tomorrow but phoned in sick, I really don't want to give this bug to the patients.

I got lots of bath stuff so won't have to go buying any for a long time hehe. From the Boyfriend I got a Red Letter Days voucher for a tea tasting day for 2! I am obsessed with tea so it's the perfect present for me! He's also promised to take me out to dinner and pay for a London hotel room for the night which is very very sweet of him.

Now I am going to try and get some sleep, hope you all had a great time!

Aw, Ruby, I'm so sorry that you are ill and have had a pants time, but I'm glad that you've had nice presents to at least partially make up for it (and help with your 100 day challenge! ;)). Get to bed, get well soon and come back when you are A-OK. x

    Thanks Pickle!

I feel that I have been very good in the sales. I've treated myself to a filofax which was in the sale on their website but was still about £40 (eeeeekkkkkk) but it was purple and I love purple and it will last forever because it is a real leather one. I have wanted one for years...I'm just trying to justify it really hehe. I tried to get a really cute Julian McDonald travel card holder from Debenhams online but they sold out just as I ordered (but I might have a look in my local branch tomorrow) so instead I got a Marc B bag from TK Maxx which was £20, orange and huge!

Tomorrow the Boyfriend is treating me to lunch (2 for the price of 1 wagamama voucher) and a movie (orange wednesday). He's also planned New Year's Eve for us: I'm working till half 9, then he's whisking me away from work to a travel inn that he booked ages ago so it wasn't that expensive where we are going to order food and have a bottle of Champagne that my dad was given as a present from work (which he doesn't drink). He's so sweet is my Boyfriend :D

    Hi Ruby,

Your sale spends weren't too bad, I didn't bother with them much, the truth is I lost my cashline and didn't want to use my Visa = not much chance of spending loads!!

Hogmany plans sound good, very romantic, maybe a wee proposal?!?!
  • Your planned New Years eve sounds lovely - have fun and I hope your coldy/fluey bug has fully gone by then! xx

Hehe I don't think so. Well not yet anyway. We have talked about it a lot and I know its coming, he just has to save for the ring. Plus I have a feeling he would like to do it in Prague...well lets just say I wouldn't be surprised if that's where it happened!

Thanks, it's really a chance for us both to spend some time alone together and just chill without having to worry about getting home or seeing family or anything. It's mostly gone now (thanks to Beechams All in One!) just a bit of a cough going on. I'm trying to make it go away with vodka and tonic!
