Now that's preparation! I would start mine, but oddly enough BA don't allow wrapped presents in hold luggage

That is rather strange...Where you going for Christmas then?

I'm only doing mine tonight because I'm working all bloody day Christmas eve (7am till 9.30pm ) and then Christmas Morning as well so if I don't get them done tonight I wont really have a chance what with all the other things going on with uni and work etc. Plus if I don't get them wrapped my mum will go snooping and find out what I have got her (a new address book and a fancy charity plate thing).

  • OMG, I just went with my dad to M&S to get last minute bits and it was manic! We were queing outside from 7:30 am! Still we managed to get everythign we wanted (mainly cream). I am so cold and tired now, I want to crawl back into bed but can't apparently. Got some cleaning to do but both the folks are home today which makes it a million times harder to do anything because they are always getting in each other's way.

Payday today so I have transferred over my £500 towards the house fund plus extra little bits to the Virtual Sealed Pot. My mum has a friend who's husband has a driving school and he's agreed to give me mates rates for lessons but I don't wuite know how much it's going to be yet. Sub £20 an hour apparently, which is what the competition are offering me for being a student and working in the NHS.

Hope you are all ready for Christmas!

{Clunk, clunk, clunk!} That's the sound of your hearty new house fund moving around when you shake the 'jar' :D Wasn't there a nearby corner shop that could have provided some cream? Getting up that early sounds horrible!

It's a "Christmas Tradition" that we get all that kind of stuff from M&S (Plus their Bread Sauce is the most amazing I have ever eaten. Last year I had one whole pot to myself!)

I can't wait to actually get my own place. It's a long way off I know but I would rather start saving now while I can (living at home with the folks etc) and after 18 months I'll be looking to move out to a rented place anyway. The BF isn't the best saver in the world (but he's getting better with the help of this site :money:) and therefore I know that if i've got a start on things house wise (he's saving for something else at the moment :D) then we won't have to wait that long to get a place together. Just wish it could be now but oh well!

Was looking around at phones last night (contract is up in January) and I really want a Blackberry Curve 8900. T-Mobile are offering it on my current priceplan with free internet (which I don't have) and £5 for Blackberry booster. Going to try and argue for this option with free Booster me thinks. If not then they have the newer (but somehow worse [according to reviews]) Curve for £15 with free landline calls which is all I ever call anyway! It's a pain in the !!!! to get a decent contract for me because I need unlimited texts (ah the pain of being in a LDR) and I can't just go for a consierably cheaper sim only plan because my current handset is falling apart!

Oh well I have a whole month to think and argue about it!

Oh and I just won £79.69 on Bingo Britain! I bought the tickets and didn't even look at the game window (I was more interested in my Banoffee Cheesecake)! I'm in shock, it's the most money I've ever won on anything!

Well done Ruby - that's brilliant! :D My tickets are all for really late today as I was out all day and didn't have the chance to do them this morning, so cross your lucky fingers for me and let's see if I can't have another pre-Christmas lucky streak!

  • Good Luck Pickle! I won another fiver after cashing out so going to give it a break tonight till I can cash out again tomorrow! So excited about it, it's going straight into the VSP which (in addition to the Sealed pot) is probably going to be the car fund for when I pass my test!
