Greenbee - we went for this Paid someone to check that the chimney etc was fine, DH did the rest including making his own register plate. I am very, very lucky in that his Dad was a builder and he did all his student summers with him so he can plaster etc. He trained as an engineer too, and has carpentry and black smithing for hobbies. He does stuff then we pay for someone to certify that it is correct to stay on the right side of building regs. We just couldn't have taken this house on otherwise.
Poohbear - Thanks, I used the 15% on Saturday for plaster boards and copper pipes but they were out of stock on the tiles. We too have run out of funds, major store cupboard challenge going on to fund the bathroom suite. I know it will all be worth it in the end, and I am sure you feel the same about yours but I just wish we could have a huge cash injection and do some of the major things - never mind the fantasy stuff like a green wooden victorian style conservatory.
Juliejim - perfect, thanks. Our Matalan is over the road from Argos who stock the Transformers one.
Fee - huge hugs for you. Mumof just4 is in a simialr situation and may be able to help? not seen her for a while though.
I hoovered the ground floor, made bacon butties for the boys as a treat, signed for delivery 1 of 3 and started sorting out the cleaning shelf which seems to be full of everything but cleaning stuff thanks to DH. Must do the gas cupboard too - bif of a whiff of gas as you go past which is mildy worrying.'If you have a garden and a library, you have everything you need' Marcus Tullius Cicero0 -
QUILLION - Whats excercise lol?????
I am working on house then on me!!! Once house is getting there I will get fit AND get a new image!!! The works lolEllen xxxxStarted flying 19/08/2009 and never looked back :jBinbag count so far: 14!!!0 -
Fee - thats awful, Im sorry. Hugs for you. Where abouts are you?
I cannot walk. Im like an old lady trying to get up and down the stairs. So I am avoiding those!
I have been pottering about upstairs - as the kids have destroyed both little ones room and the spare room, as well as the landing. I hate kids
They have in fact, made so much mess upstairs, that they had no room left to play - and promptly took all the hot wheels stuff downstairs......which is now all over the living room.
There is chocolate milk all over the floor, off their coco pops.
They are like a pair of little tornadoes leaving a trail of destruction in their pathSometimes lurking, sometimes posting, but always flying

Morning All.
Fee-so sorry to hear your news. I read it after sitting around worrying abut the future and have now decided to take my two children and my niece to the local farm and park. I read to day a quote "Today is a gift that is why they call it the present." So today I am going to create some memories with my children.
((hugs)) to everyone today regardless.January Grocery 11/3740 -
Morning everyone!
Didn't get a deal done yesterday, oh well!
DS got back from his job at V Fest last night & informed me he is being picked up for work at Leeds Fest tomorrow :eek:. The WM is doing overtime, loads of damp smelly work clothes to get done for tonight. It's dry & sunny at the mo though, so hopefully it will dry.
Lots of hugs & best wishes to those that need them, it seems like a lot of flyladies have such a lot to deal with at the mo & my thoughts are with you.

fee - that's terrible news. I'm so sorry (((hugs)))
I haven't read through much of this weeks thread so far as I have been out all of yesterday and just getting started today. So (((hugs))) for anyone who needs them.
I was much cheered up yesterday after spending the day with an old friend and her family, who are holidaying down the road in Cromer.
The boys all played on the beach together while we caught up and then in the evening we went back down to the beach for a BBQ with some delicious burgers she'd bought from the butcher's stall where she works on Borough Market.
But back to today - we're leaving for London tonight so have to do so much today.
Anyone up for a HHC 10.45 - 11.15 ?
