Have changed bedding of DDs, and hoovered upstairs, done our flower show entries for the Church fete worse than death, DH has mowed lawn and tidied garden, and we have audited our china (well, pottery) to find out what is chipped and needs replaced. Hoping if DH realises cost of replacement, he will be a little less, er, masculine, in his handling of it!Please do not confuse me with other gratefulsforhelp. x0

DK Was it you ages ago that suggested Gift from the Sea to me. I have just promised my copy to my sister who seems to be in the same pickle I was last year with 5 adults at home and her 'doing' everything and not having any time to herself. It helps to put everything in perspective.
In two weeks time I will be down to just DH, me and DS2 at home. It is a very strange thought after all these years of having a houseful of young people. I hope they come home at weekends to start with. DD just lives over the hill with SIL too so I will see them a lot.
Yes it was me, glad it helped a bit. I'm not sure how I'll feel when my fledglings start to flee the nest.fedupandskint wrote: »OMG!!! I think I'm seeing things!!!!

It is all down to Greenbee - she loves smurfs;)
Just having a little break from the garden. Was doing quite well until a neighbour came over for a chat. I like a chat but not for hours so after an hour made an excuse to come in to 'check on something' I'll pop back out in a minute. The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0 -
OrkneyStar wrote: »ETA on the smurf front.....is there one that knits ? or makes cards ? or has a bad back (lol).................
I do like the Hiker Smurf.....he is cool (although I know he is spoken for lol).
Not sure if anyone has this one already, but the best I could find was 'Baker Smurf', as there is not a knitting, card making one, or one with a sore back!poohbear59 wrote: »Orkney star, I would like a bad back and knitting smurf too. Not the card making though! And now I can't knit because of my bad elbow tooI hope your LO is not poorly.
LO has not been his usual self (upset tummy, was sick) and keeps pointing to his cheeks when I ask where is sore....I wonder if he is getting his big molars through ? On a flying front, have done 3 loads of washing and hung up indoors (duvet covers and a dark and lights load).....'tis raining outside to needs to be dried indoors.
ETA whoever is doing stars (toots ? soappie ?)- I have done all the days so need 5 stars this weekthanks.

It goes very very well thanks Soappie....
The house is nice and tidy the washing is being caught up on...
even the books are organised
and my cd's are slowly being backed up and put into order
Wish my house was organised - it looks like Steptoe's yard at the moment - but at least there's no horse I suppose...soappie - think i've missed something...is DD moving in with you?
Yes, temporarily. Her bloke's Mum is buying him a flat but the silly things handed in their notice on their rental before the other was even exchanged. So he's going back to his parents and she's coming back to me. When she moved out I turned the front room into a sitting room (the settee is a futon so that's the bed sorted) sort of archive room. DiL has been putting her overflow stuff in there too. So it all needs to be sorted out and put somewhere else.
The cupboard under the stairs has had a good tidy up and sort out this afternoon. DiL's overflow stuff is now in there. Archive stuff is now in my bedroom but will move to NN's front room tomorrow. My overflow wardrobe that was in the cupboard under the stairs is now in the kitchen temporarily until I work out where to put it.
DD has dropped some of her stuff off and there are bags and boxes all over the living room.
~sigh~
I feel exhausted.... and am having a restorative 5 minute break with a glass of Gordons. DD moves back Monday night so I don't have to rush through tonight but I would like some semblence of order...I am the leading lady in the movie of my life
