just reading a review on these 2 of them in sli can do pretty damn good, so for around £100 you are getting the performance of a card worth around £200!!!

    ian

i know they are xfx's but if they can overclock okishly you can get near the performance http://www.motherboards.org/reviews/hardware/1597_1.html

  • this is an agp review, http://tomshardware.co.uk/2006/02/02/nvidia_7800gs_confirms_agp_aint_dead_yet_uk/page7.htmlbut matches it against an ATI 850XTPE, which is the agp version.I have an ATI 850xtpe in PCI-e
so can only guess that if both cards were PCI-e then they would perform about the same.( only a theory) LOL

I have seen 7800gs's that have various clock speeds tho.

They have taken my money too, and as yet, i have no email to say there is a delay, Im not holding my breath tho, altho i will be gutted as i plan to SLI a pair of them.

I DID get the email saying there will be a delay in getting mine.

But i've now checked my credit card and they've taken the money, so it's now a legally binding contract so they will have to supply me with the card or a better alternative.

same, here. They took the payment from me as well.

But do you think they will be willing to give a better alternative?

how good is the company in customer service?
  • i have bought two to run in sli, so fingers crossed.

if it doesnt come through i won't be overly fussed as it isn't that big a deal, they aren't great performers. ill just sit and wait.

Except Tom's Hardware is actually looking at a 7800GS which is a totally different kettle of fish.

How about this for a review of the XFX 7600GS?

    http://www.motherboards.org/reviews/hardware/1597_1.html

Apologies if it's already been posted. :o

Also, does this card require a minimum of 400 watts?

hehe yeah i posted that at the top of this page (2), however it shows xfx cards which are standard overclocked; and you must also realise that the review is showing two of these preoverclocked xfx 7600s cards running in unison, i.e. SLIed.

there is quite a difference between a 7600gs and a 7600gt mainly because of the pixel pipelines it has. just read some reviews (do a google) and you will find out more

2 questions 1 on and 1 off topic sorry

    1. What is a HDTV output - do they mean a second dvi output? Do they mean HDMI output which seems crazy cos graphic cards don't do sound as far as I'm aware? Can I use this card with a standard monitor?

    2. I didn't think that selling second hand goods involved tax. I just sold a motorbike through the freeads and as far as I know there is no tax to pay on it. That is why second hand company vehicles do charge VAT because they didn't pay it first time around. Last week I broke my old computer (just got a dell hence checking this forum) and sold the parts on ebay - surely I don't declare the money I make it would be a nonsense.
