Flaming Bears

Reading these debates I get the impression that many of the bears are annoyed that some people, the people they would class as their peers, made a fortune out of what is probably a once in a lifetime national property bubble (although I could be wrong and regional ones happen more frequent!). Some people got out, others got greedy, others were too stupid to see what was coming and borrowed simply because they could - they rejoice in this! I fail to see why? the real bubble was at the top were all the dodgy debt was being sold $$$ billions is what these guys got away with!
Just 10 - 15 years ago there were people giving up there jobs to buy dot com shares as stocks rose 200% in a day, the internet made share buying easy and everyone wanted in pushing up prices.
There will be another bubble in something else and the same bears will be jealous of missing that one too!0 -
Most "bulls" aren't bulls, as a rule we're fairly moderate in what we believe.
The "bull" side of the argument is really looking about what is happening and why, where it appears a lot of the "bear" side is about wanting things to be different, in effect it's about wishful thinking.
Good lord. What complete rubbish.
You really seem to believe you are the "moderate, in the middle" poster. You insist you are not a bull. Yet you come out with that absolute rubbish and talk about Hamish exploring where we are?
Yet you do not mention ad (god rest his soul), thruglemir etc, who DO actually look at things.
BOTH sides are as bad as each other with the baiting.0 -
Correct.
They don't have any money you see, they have equity.
And equity allows them to borrow more.
And get this - they also think that the larger your mortgage, the richer you are.
I know, I know, it's ridiculous.
But it's true.
You understand that this is as simplistic, pointless and dumb as me saying:
Bears don't have any money you see, they have dreams.
And dreams means they will never have anything.
And get this - they also think that the more people who lose jobs, the richer they are.
I know, I know, it's ridiculous.
But it's true.
There are very, very few 'bulls' who fit the bear stereotype of them on here, and there are very, very few 'bears' who fit the bull stereotype of them.
This strange mentality of insults flung from one from the other is like watching boys in the playground think they are better than girls, and vice versa. I can basically split everyone on the forum in to two groups: people who post interesting things that I like reading and people who don't. And I don't really care if they fit in to any 'bull' or 'bear' catagory.
Very tiresome.0 -

Y'know I think since he joined that I've agreed with about 0.4% of what Hamish has said. But I like reading his posts as they offer a very different point of view. I don't really agree with much you say either Graham, but I always read your posts for the same reason.0 -

What a load of rubbish.
The bulls wish prosperity, full employment, economic growth, and financial success for everyone.
The bears wish recessions, asset price crashes, negative equity and unemployment on everyone else, so they can pick up a bargain.
Bears are contemptible creatures. Utterly despicable.“The great enemy of the truth is very often not the lie – deliberate, contrived, and dishonest – but the myth, persistent, persuasive, and unrealistic.
Belief in myths allows the comfort of opinion without the discomfort of thought.”

It was exactly the response the OP deserved.....
And in all seriousness, I do find it despicable that so many bears wish so much misery on the rest of the population, so they can further their own selfish ends.
Poor form indeed.“The great enemy of the truth is very often not the lie – deliberate, contrived, and dishonest – but the myth, persistent, persuasive, and unrealistic.

I am with you Hamish i find the bears, appear to be just jealous and bitter about anyone else being successful, hence they want gloom for everyone!
I do not have clue which way the economy is heading, so im not sure what camp I fall into, but If you were to ask me what I would like to see happen it would be a recovery to stop people slipping into poverty or my friends etc losing jobs0
