Greenpixey - thanks for the ebay link - I ended up buying the yarn - I've just got to get the hook thingie now!!! I'll be looking for that magazine too - will you let me know if you find it - mind you I'm pretty much housebound at the minute with my newborn
I did find the magazine but I didn't buy it. I got side tracked and in the end I purchased 2 knitting magazines and a Thomas the tank engine magazine for the boys
I know what you mean about being housebound. My youngest had is first birthday two weeks ago and now toddles around, keeping me occupied by my pulling washing down of the radiators and stuff. Your little one probably mostly spend the time sleeping at the moment, enjoy it while you can, the first year goes so fast...0 -
I started a couple of years ago and learnt from books and internet
Much prefer it to knitting as I have inflamed tendons in my wrists which means I can't do big projects on knitting needles
But I've managed to crochet these bits amongst others
Round Ripple - I did this for my grandfather about 2 years ago - it was my first major project. He had it on his chair till he passed away in January and it was then returned to me. It's now living on my sofaBaby blanket I did for a friend
A bag I did to try different stitches
Also did a multitude of scarves and bits and pieces I don't have pictures of
Best investment? Some handcarved hooks from the USIf you want the link PM me
They're made by a chap who auctions them off every so often on his blog - all proceeds going to build his porch in the gorgeous mountains

Hello, just found this lovely (newish) thread and wondered if I could join you. I was taught to crochet in school and by my mum about 20 years in primary school but haven't done it for years. So I like to get back into it and re-fresh the different techniques. I was planning to pop into town today to get some wool as I got a few projects in mind, like a clutch bag and a little matching purse.
Speak soon
P.S. How do you post pictures?

Sorry, ignore the jam in the background (sorry couldn't be bothered to take and upload another picture), but these are the drawstring bag and the purse I made last week, just to get back into it. This week I want to make a little draw string purse for "MIL" and a make up bag for a friend.

I like what you've madeare you by any chance able to share the pattern for the drawstring bag? Wouldn't mind trying to make something useful instead of another toy.

Hi everyone!
I've crochet'd on and off for years now (but only know hwo to make granny squares and use tha same stitches to make scarves and as of tonight a shawl
The Amiguruni's look fab, but I've never ever been able to follow patterns.... I'm not a daft person I've just always been the kind of person to learn by 'doing'... and switch off when reading patterns etc
Can anyone recomend a really basic crochet web page so that I learn the stitch names on the other webs site patterns?
I'll try and get a piccie of my shawl tomorrow night loadedApril 2021 Grocery Challenge 34.29 / 2500
