Oh !!!!!!!! Twice now Deloittes have written to me asking for my ex-wife's details on our Picture loan, and twice I have written (once by post, once by email after contacting by phone to obtain the correct email address) to explain that the loan is not in my ex's name - I took the loan in the divorce and she had never paid anything towards it so it was transferred to me. All of this is detailed in the divorce paperwork I sent along with my claim form.
Now I get a letter saying they have closed my claim because they haven't received the forms signed by my ex wife?!?!?!
Are they really that useless?!?
Yes they are:( I've sent them the information they asked for, they confirmed twice they had received it ( was sent recorded) yet when I asked for an update after a month they said they were still waiting for the info and now can't appear to find it0 -
Thanks for the advice. Have already sent my form off and given my reasons, was just being nosey as to what others had done.0

FINALLY got confirmation from Deloittes today that they have received the information I sent them back in January, FSCS have sent my file back to them - why they sent it to them in the first place remains a mystery, and has been sent for assessment. Does anyone have any ideas how long the process normally takes from here - my claim is with Picture.0

My forms have been with Deloittes for two weeks. I had two phone calls from them last week asking for information. How long should I leave it before I ring for an update, and if I ring, do I ring Deloittes or FSCS?
I feel really nervous about it for some reason, I think I have a good fairly straight forward case. I just can not stop thinking about it, its taking over my life :rotfl:0 -
Put in a ppi claim to First Plus last week, and today have received a letter from them, saying we had bought it through Freedom Finance who are no longer in business, and they have referred it to the FSCS.
I am 99.9 % sure I got it through FIRST PLUS, I remember the advert with Carol Vorderman, why would I have gone through someone else?
My question is will FSCS pay out on my behalf, or should I just kiss goodbye to this now? if FSCS do pay out, how long will it be?
Could cry,the kids thought we were going on holiday!no longer miserable in debt.... :T but dont know how to change my id!!:beer:0 -
Forgot to say this was a loan through Freedom/Wilmslow Finance
Somebody further up the forum (see quote above) won with Freedom finace through FSCS and was very quick too. I have a claim in with FSCS with picture loans.
If you email the FSCS they will send you a form to fill in, you send this off with your documentation and they deal with it from there. Its definitely worth a go!
I am going to ring FSCS on Monday for an update on my claim.0 -
Keep going WelshLady - despite getting a letter from FSCS saying they were closing my file, I got a phone call the next day from Deloittes saying that the person who was dealing with my file was in the office the following day and he would be getting straight onto it.
I must admit to sending a very strongly worded email in the meantime, which I think must have helped!
Called them the other day for an update and they said the claim was going through and my file was with FSCS for calculation, and we should hear in the next four to six weeks!
Keep with it, call Deloittes if necessary - I called, got an email addy, and then emailed that person and cc'd FSCS in, just to make sure I was heard. As they say, the squeaky wheel gets the oil!
Will update as and when we get a cheque. I have no idea how much it will be as we did get some NCB cheques from Picture, but anything is better than nowt0 -

Don't panic - Freedom Finance may have been a broker, and the actual loan was with First Plus. Either way, if the FSCS are dealing with it, they are the ones who calculate what you are owed.
What I would say however is, as with any money coming in, don't depend on it. Then if anything goes wrong, you won't feel you have lost anything. Fingers crossed for you!0 -

Hope you hear about yours soon.
A couple of months I think, since January at least so don't hold your breath too much - some people get theirs very quick but I think mine was held up as the original loan was in joint names and because it was transferred to me personally (due to divorce) it was a touch more complicated to sort.
Fingers crossed!0
