Mine is in the same position Picture are supposed to be sending whatever this new info is this week. Its such a frustrating process I dont understand why they are so guarded about everything and cant even give an estimate on resolution or any real information on what the holdup is, it should be an open process not shrouded in secrecy.0 -
I'm sure it's for the sake of national secruity!
Sorry very childish0 -

Hi and welcome.
They are all shrouded in secrecy, it was like getting blood out of a stone, not many of them are prepared to give anything away. We were quite lucky with our advisor at deloitte, he was really good. We definataley need more of him.

Phoned picture earlier who have said that a huge batch has been sent to do littles today with all the requested data so to phone do littles and find out if they have received everything and ring back on Friday if there is anything missing.
I would think that as they have sent a huge batch quite a few people should start to hear something this week0 -

Hi, I logged onto this site in the hope for some information and advice. I've have had a loan with Picture since April 2007. In November 2007 I decided that the premium for the loan was way too much - £14,000 - and so I tried to cancel it with the intention of taking out a stand-alone insurance. I sent off a letter to Picture and their response was to say they would deduct £1,000 (and something) off the end of the loan. I foolishly decided that I would carry on as I would be eligible for a payment after 3 years.
Now that the 3 years is almost up I contacted them today and they said I would not be paid out because I defaulted on a couple of payments. I am currently paying extra each month to catch up and I am less than 2 months in arrears. But I am still paying for a £14,000 insurance premium that is in effect worthless.
It was only when I found this link that I found out that Picture have ceased trading. I had a visit a couple of months ago from a debt adviser who claimed to be from Picture, but at no time have I been advised that Picture themselves are no longer trading or that such and such company are now collecting my debt. I'm at my wits end and feel so foolish. I wish I'd continued with my cancellation back in November '07. Any advice would be gratefully welcomed.0 -

Hi fishermick and welcome.
First and foremost, do not under any circumstances use any company to claim back the PPi from Picture. You don't need them. They are only there to take a lot of money off you for something you can do yourself. Some are charging as much as 40% to do what you can do for yourself.
Get the ball rolling right away by ringing the FSCS. The number is on their website. Tell them you want to make a claim for missold PPI and request a claim form.
Gather any paperwork you may have, agreements, letters etc and make copies. When FSCS send you the claim form you can then include all the paperwork when you send it back to them.
Remember to include as many reasons as possible for the missell, and they will take it from there.
I cancelled my Insurance after 30 months and to be honest I didn't gain that much from it. Our PPI was for £8750. My payments were only reduced by £2 per month. I managed to remortgage and pay off Picture and when I did it appears they deducted £600 from my loan re cancellation of PPI. Not much is it?
So many of us on here were stung by Picture and it was the biggest mistake of our live, so you are not alone. There are many who have rcd over £20,000 back in missold PPI. so be sure you get this claim started ASAP.
There will always be someone on here to help you with this, so don't hesitate to post for more help. One of our posters rcd a visit as you did. This was several months back, and they have since won their claim.
Good luck
The way it has gone here is that when the claims were paid out you still have the option to cancel or keep the PPi running, even though you get it all refunded.
If you look at all the names on my signature, they are just the one's we know about who have won, so get cracking;);)
Claims for Picture are now being dealt with by the FSCS and a company called Deloittedialysis,mammamia,honey.beaniebabe,saltyfish,funky,Gumbi,Lian,doogle,oldwulf,pinknico,Halpin,alyson,Barloo,jadone,demir,netabc,chickpee,dannyboy,tomgaskel,Lozza001,sandzb,di,marshallka,pengi,lynnie,busbyh,moggy,Kim66,honestbob,tobione,itdonk,arrongborne,thunders,newtonchang,mbones,showergirl, coffeetower,hayston,sappy,dolallytap,AuntieDeedee0 -
My husband spoke to our contact at Deloittes today & was told that they were just waiting on the details coming back from Picture then they would be returning the file to FSCS.
When he asked what the likely timescales would be he was told that they can't give any timescales, but if he hadn't heard from FSCS within the month to give them a call.
I'm getting really nervous!
I don't know if I should be excited or upset.
I just wish they could say its likely to be successful or not.0
