Reassuring as usual Busbyh thank you, new bathroom will have to wait till Jan now anyway. May even get some bargain materials in the sales. Would be nice to see the cheque before xmas though.

I'm sure you won't mind waiting for the bathroom Bob, so long as you have sight of that cheque;);)

The fscs do seem to be on a roll now, so hopefully it will be. As I said their timescale is 6th January. That is 6 mths from date of default:beer: As I say, again, "my waters never let me down":D:D

The most frustrating thing I find with the reclaiming is the wait. most of my claims are now due for a response so this weekend could be busy with typing letters, but once they go off I get a hell of a kick from knowing that with a bit of luck, the little guy has won a battle, so Bodkins, keep it going, don't ever give up.

My parents got themselves in bother with cards and loans and did lose their house and now rent. I haven't told them what I'm up to on here, but soon will and I really cannot wait to fight their corner. The finance companies really got my mum down - payback time

Good for you putty, and I do hope you win something back for them soon.Imagine their surprise when you do.:j
It must be the hardest thing ever, losing your home, I can only imagine what it must be like, losing something you have worked so hard for.

Nice that they have you to fight their corner, we all need a little help sometimes.
Good luck and keep us posted
    xx

I know people can be in a very desperate situation and it must be so hard, and BODKINS as putty says, do not give up on this one

Bodkins, well done on taking the first step. You are certainly in the right place and this is a great thread, no orrid trolls in here !!! Very friendly and informative.

Anyway from what you have said so far, Im thinking Oct 2008 you recd your 1st NCB payment (that is if you were able to meet the criteria of paying on time etc) and maybe Oct 2009 your 2nd NCB payment.

If this is the case bear in mind that any financial redress from FSCS may make a deduction of this NCB amount which (not sure if you have been following our views) a few on here (myself included) believe is totally unfair and unjust.

I dont want to bombard you this at this early stage with the full ins, outs and whys, but merely just want to make you aware to double check your figures when they come through .
If you see a penny, pick it up, all day long you'll have good luck !!!!!! :D

  • Yes I have been studying the replies regarding NCB but due to picture saying we had defaulted on 3 payments we would not be getting our NCB. At this point I must add that one of these was when they failed to inform us of yet another increase in our payment so under the direct debit guarentee I reclaimed the payment, they then started if with heavy handed tactics telling me that the letter must have got lost in the post and I had 48 hours to repay the money or they would start proceedures to reposses my home. A fat lot of good the DD guarentee seems to be, so I cancelled the PPP and had a rebate sent to the loan all £3,000 of it which made a grand total of £7 reduction in payments. What I find amazing is that being told that as long as we did not make a claim on the policy we would get these NCB , but they never mention a late payment as falling into arrears just say that it was in the paperwork you signed therefore you must have read it, I don't know if it's true but I'm sure I read somewhere that things like this should be made clear to you and not hidden away in section 12 paragraph 4 article E in the small print, feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.
Any how any one waiting today good luck , and my wife has said we won't win we never do someone will fail so am trying my best to make her see the positive side in this.
