Moggy, at the time we were sorting out the remortgage, we received a letter out of the blue from Picture telling us that if we were to pay off the loan, they would waive any early redemption charge. This was £1700 I think, which we did save on completion

Yes we did Moggy, but it was well worth it. Ours (my daughter's) was for about £42,000, very similiar to your. If you look at my post yesterday, when I broke it all down, we have saved or will save an absolute fortune. we borrowed £35,000 plus £8872 PPI:mad::mad:
yeah its about the same as ours we couldnt wait to get rid of it is everybody claiming for the same thing ?we werent told it was only for five years and i was the only one covered when my husband had pre existing conditions:mad:

we didnt recieve one of those we paid everything off :mad::mad: they werent even going to let us sell our last house but they didnt have much choice as we probably would have had to have our house repossessed.

Yes we are all claiming for more or less the same reasons. The main thing with this is it is a SINGLE PREMIUM POLICY. - just added to the loan. They don't really explain too much about that, do they and yes as you say we were only covered for five years, yet paying for the term of the loan. In our case 25 years:eek::eek:

By what we have heard so far, I think we will all win on this one, don't see how we can't;)

Hi all hope you are all well! Not been around as a manic weekend - school christmas fayre and cinema trip to watch new moon as a family outing!

I am not sure how FSCS are working things out - mine arrived there on the 20th and I was told it would be at least a month last mon. Then i got a call on the tues as a response to an e mail i sent on the sat saying it would be sooner rather than later! Then a cheque was issued on the weds and received on the friday! Does not seem fair on you guys who have been back with FSCS for a while.

Paid our cheque in on sat and got a right grilling from the bank - who was it from, what would i spending it on etc - put a real dampner on an exciting day!
