Hi to everyone on this forum. Just wanted to say a big thank you for all your posts which helped me keep up the fight for my PPI compensation, when I beginning to give up hope of ever getting anything back!:o:o:o
I've been claiming against Loanmakers Limited for mis-sold PPI. Loanmakers were our broker when we took out a loan with Picture.
Some good news, yesterday I received a cheque from FSCS for a total of £8,763.30. :jThis is broken down as follows:
 Original PPI premium £7485.00
 Plus interest £2256.16
Less rebate due on cancellation £484.64
Plus a reasonable rate of return £36.04
 Equals compensation figure of £9292.56
As FSCS only pay the first 90% of the above £2000 the cheque I received is for £8,763.30.
This for us is a massive amount of money, it means we can really begin to get ourselves out of debt, and has come at just the right time!!!
Here's an outline of how quickly our claim was paid out by FSCS (especially compared to FOS!!!). Originally our claim was with the FOS for over a year till Loanmakers went under. I sent the completed compensation application form to FSCS on the 28th September 2009, and then received a letter from Deloitte on behalf of FSCS asking for some further information. I sent the additional information back to Deloitte on 19 October 2009. I was then sent the cheque for £8763.30 on the 13th November 2009. :T
Only snag is that they had my partners first name incorrect so have had to return the cheque!0

Fantastic news dannyboy. Friday 13th wasn't unlucky for you then:D Do you have to claim back the Insurance rebate or do you plan on keeping the insurance going. Also have you ever received a No Claims Bonus from the Insurance company.
 Well done and enjoy.:j:j:j
This is the first payment we have heard for over a week, so hopefully there will be more this coming week.
I wish FSCS were as quick with mine, they have had my claim since 12th Sept 08:eek:
Good luck again and many thanks for letting us all know

            Thanks bushby!
I know, I was so shocked when we got the letter. I could see through the envelope window that is was a decision letter, I thought it was much to soon to be good news and thought it had been declined!
When I opened it up I couldn't believe it was an acceptance letter and cheque and started crying! :j
Fingers crossed you get yours soon, they must be working on them in a funny order! :T0

            Dannyboy,
Can I ask you how long the loan has been running. I am trying to work out how much rebate we should have got when we cancelled the insurance. We cancelled after 30months and rcd none.

I think the delay is because we cleared the Picture loan (thank God) by remorgaging,
As you said yours had been with the FOS also.
Fingers crossed it won't be too long now.:beer:dialysis,mammamia,honey.beaniebabe,saltyfish,funky,Gumbi,Lian,doogle,oldwulf,pinknico,Halpin,alyson,Barloo,jadone,demir,netabc,chickpee,dannyboy,tomgaskel,Lozza001,sandzb,di,marshallka,pengi,lynnie,busbyh,moggy,Kim66,honestbob,tobione,itdonk,arrongborne,thunders,newtonchang,mbones,showergirl, coffeetower,hayston,sappy,dolallytap,AuntieDeedee0
