Anyway..........I have emailed the FSCS, afterall the letter from Deloittes is headed with FSCS, and see what they have to say about C&G when its not TWOPART they settled.

If they don't get back by mid day tomorrow, we will give them a ring.

I am hoping they will say "they will look into it straight away" and get back to us to tell us they don't require those C&G details after all.

    What a palavar.........

Looking at my calculations, I cannot tell if I'd been overpaid!

But if like Di I could see an obvious error I would probably have to point it out or jump at every phone call for the rest of my life!

As you say chances of thea happening are pretty remote.

Hope they take onboard the letter sent by Barloo and all in regards to NCB, because that is just daft.

I know what your are saying. for instance I am due to retire next year and they had me down as having an extra 12 years in my pension, from a previous dept. (I wish) but me being me I had to point it out to them as I am sure it would have come back to bite me in the backside when I least expected it.

When I told them, I was told it may never have come to light:eek::eek: I felt a bit gutted, but there you go, honesty is the best policy for all I joke about keeping it.

I do also know when calculations are made e.g, redundancy and large payouts, after they are paid out they are sent to firms like Price Waterhouse Cooper for a final check.

This is also another reason FSCS have put this on the letter. I know for a fact if it's just a few hundred pounds, they waive it, but shouldn't think this would be the case if it involved thousands.

This is for our benefit as well as theirs

Can't wait to see how they respond to barloo's letter.

Like you say pinknico, in most cases we would not be able to tell if we had been overpaid, we really accept what they say.

DON'T SAY THE FSCS WOULD DO THIS, BUT WHO KNOWS, USE THEM FOR FINAL CHECK. MAYBE THAT IS WHY THEY HAVE DELOITTES ON THE CASE ALSO

You are probably right busbyh, the FSCS job is to pay out large amounts of compensation in many areas so I am sure they do a lot of checking!

I would hope they get it right first time for you Di but me, tiggrae, and mcolak all thought (from how you posted it up on here first:confused:) that your PPI actually charged was this £8K odd. It was only when you posted it all that it come to light. Maybe they will think the same;).

You deserve more anyway don't you think for all your stress and inconvenience. The FSCS don't pay that do they??

I am sure if they did pay you it all back then your friends on here would be along to advise you to keep it all. Busbyh especially....lol
