Whilst I appreciate what you say Gumbi about being in control. It also works the other way. Direct Debit is supposed to have a guarentee that you can claim back ANY payment automatically should a mistake have been made (never done it myself, but it actually says that on the mandate in the small print) and as far as I know you cant get this with SO. Also alot of financial providers make a charge (surprise surprise!!) for paying by SO and a discount for DD. I know that Northern Rock charged me last year £30 for making my mortgage payments via SO rather than their preferred DD method.

So make sure people read the T & C before cancelling those DD's

Good call....I checked all T&C's before before changing over as well!

Thank you busbyh, that sounds the most positive news we have heard recently, I wonder how many were in the first batch?

Lets hope Target pull their finger out and get this info back so that more batches can be sent off.

Also does that mean all the first batch have a valid claim and are waiting to be calculated?

Wish I didnt keep thinking up questions!!

    Thanks again busbyh.xx

    Hi pinknico
He also said, once the first batch is back they can then concentrate on the next lot.
I asked if this was going to be a long drawn out case and he disagreed with me. He intimated once this info was received it would not be too long.
They have sent Target a form to complete with the relevant questions re- % etc.
From what he has said I think we are in the first batch. esp you, with being Aug.(is that right) It was he who said they were being dealt with by date of receipt, therefore the early one must be in the first lot:beer:
Also, I forget to mention, there appears to be a few more working on them know. It wasn't the usual American lady I spoke to. I spoke to one chap who traanferred me to a Tom Allen who is dealing with Picture.

Hope this makes us all feel a little more positive

Also I really do think this means we have a valid claim

HI thanks Busbyh thats good news. I have also spoke to a man last time I called Deloitte who was called Tom and most recently spoke to the american lady, both told me that they were waiting for info from third parties, this must be the form you mentioned. Like you I think that if we did not have a valid claim they wouldnt be sending forms for Picture/Target to fill in. So yes I think it is more positive news. ;):D

    Hi all
I have just spoken to a very nice man in Deloittes. He tells me the first batch has been sent to Target for the info ie. interest rates, rebates received , payments made etc. I asked if he thought they where dragging their feet and he didn't seem to think so. Said they are hoping to hear from them fairly soon and then they can get on with sorting the claims, how much etc.

He said they are definately being looking at in date order. told him ours was received 12th Sept and he said that was early in relation to some of them they have received.

I asked him if ours was in the first batch but he would not confirm this only to say ours was one of the early ones to be received.

I think their hands are tied in as much info they can give, but he did sound quite positive about the info from the first batch being received soon.

    Fingers crossed:D;)

I din't get the impresssion it would be too long (forever the optimist) It does sound to me as things are finally moving. I was starting to feel quite low again t the weekend. It is annoying when we know we have to wait until Monday on the off chance we will hear something

I called the FSCS today for an update. They informed me that they were waiting for information from Target and then it would be plain sailing from there onwards. :D
I asked if there was anything I could do to speed things up and was informed just to keep in touch with FSCS . I then decided to contact Target and asked if they had received any information from FSCS. They said they hadn't received anything yet but gave me a fax number for me to pass onto the FSCS for them to fax any forms etc they wanted target to complete. The man was very helpful at target and asked me to call back mid week in order to make sure they had received the fax from FSCS. I contacted the FSCS after and they e mailed deloitte whilst I was on the phone to ask them to fax info to the man from Target. :T
I will keep you all informed of any progress .:D

Ok correct me if I am wrong.
Busbyh has been told they are waiting for information from Target.

Beaniebabe has been told by Target they have received nothing from the FSCS.

The FSCS fax Deloitte so they can fax forms to Target.

Shouldnt Target already have the forms if Deloitte are WAITING to receive stuff back??

Is this just another delay? (sob)
