Seeing the crques arrive has made me feel better and, as my home is not at risk I have no problem waiting if it's sorted for those that are:p

Busbyh, I was only saying that cause I know that people have been at threat of their homes as its "secured" and with credit card debts they are not. IF there ever came a time in someones life again whereby they needed to reduce their outgoings then unsecured debts only mean a dmp whereas secured loans mean repossession. If you were to be advised by a debt advisor after having troubles then they would always say to pay the secured (mortgage and secured loans) first and ask for help on the others. I certainly would not risk my home again ever if it mean't to me a choice of paying off credit cards/loans or secured loans. I know by missing on the credit cards etc it would not mean me being homeless. Just my view and i have seen so many on here saying they are already struggling with the repayments. If its not repaid against the loan then really its only like having "more" in a secured loan to consolidate other debts. Not always a wise move as I found out.

Please don't take offence here folks as my views are only my views. :o Its totally up to any individual.

Marshallka, this is my 4th attempt at posting.GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

I can assure you no offence was or ever will be taken by you or anyone expressing their views on this site. This is what we are all about. So please do not worry about it.

It was my daughter's intention to pay off Picture, initially, until she decided to remortgage. She took the new loan out over 19 yrs ,remaining term of mortgage. Saving 4 years payments as she still had 23 years left with Picture. She saved a massive ££16800. She also saved a lot more as her monthly payment went from £350 to £260, saving another £90pm.

This was when she decided, all being well to get rid of the credit card and a loan. to be honest I feel a having a credit card would be far to temping to them (even dangerous)to keep.

Her objective is to pay these off and with the monthly savings pay part of it to the the mortgage capital, in order to reduce the years.

As I have said before, no way have I been offended by any of your views, in fact we would have been lost without you and your brilliant calc:D and link etc,so please do not worry about what you have said and please do not be embarrassed:A

    EDIT

CAN'T BELIEVE I HAVE ACTUALLY GOT IT THROUGH. I WAS DETERMINED NOT TO LOG OFF UNTIL I HAD DONE IT!!!!!!!
FORTUNATELY I HAVE ANOTHER DAY OFF TOMORROW
NOW I AM GOING TO BED!!!

Doesnt hurt does it, to send them a little nudge !!!!
    nks for this

Thanks for that dialysis. It really means a lot. I sometimes feel like there are some on here that only want to hear like minded points of views and nothing else and that anyone with anything different is certainly made to feel "different". We all have our own troubles to deal with as well but seems one thing in common, money worries and we all know how to deal with them for ourselves but i was just trying in my own way to be helpful and give another view, certainly not to judge and make people feel wrong..

Thanks again dialysis. I have wanted you to win so much to keep your house and keep it forever too. :A
    Marshallka
You speak a lot of sense and have not offended me. Like others I have found your advice and support extremelly helpful.
As regards to my compensation we have to be very sensible about what we do with it. It is very tempting to blow the lot. However I do not want to be in this position again. It is very stressful for the whole family when you have very little money to make ends meet. Me and Hubby have had a good chat about what we are going to do with the compensation and although we will have a very small treat, the majority of it will go to picture as we realy need to reduce our outgoings:A
