Exactly, we've got there in the end Honey:beer:
hooorah I am happy - I think if everyone can remember it is being given bad advise by Picture in relation to the PPI is what the FSCS are compensating customers for.

I am not saying they are not interested in knowing that i.e. the PPI was only for 5 years, only covered 1 person, did not mention pre existing conditions, etc etc, but that they are not compensationg for mis selling of the PPI.

When you all get your letter and cheque you will see the wording they use.

Someone asked about rejections - my friend was rejected - they have received a transcript of the telephone recording between Picture and the husband - the FSCS are saying that they were not given bad or incrorrect advise in relation to the PPI therefore their claim for compensation has been rejected.

The transcript of the call they must have had a good operator because they even asked them if they fully understood what the PPI. It aslo showed they were told thaat if they wished to seek independant advise then they could do so before signing the paperwork and agreeing to taking the PPI. Also it advised them of the cooling off period and they had 21 days if they decided the PPI was not the product they required and they would be given a full refund i.e. the loan would be re-calculated minus the PPI.

    They continue to appeal.

yes i have put my claim in, still awaiting to hear anything as with most people. It is all so very confusing, i argued over paying the full ppi to them as we had only had the loan for a short amount of time but you are made to pay the full amount when you pay off loan.

To be honest i am willing to give anything a go if it means i get something back. Deloittes were not aware i had paid loan off apprently even though it is all on my paperwork and he was looking at my info so more questions to be asked i presume. My claim was put through in january this year so i think i have a long time to wait still for anything

You also get interest back on the ppi part of the new loan that you have paid to date, which was something we were not aware of until contacted by Deloittes requesting the name and details of the lender. So that is a little bit extra too

To be honest Honey, going by what you have said, I think she will have a fight on their hands with this one. Obviously she was a good advisor and has made it exceptionally clear to her what she was taking on. I really cannot see her winning this.
to me the advisor went by the book on this one and I don't think her advice could be challenged

Busbyh - neither do I - they were not given bad advise the conterary in fact. Perhaps it was a new member of staff nevertheless they were told everything and were given options to xc or get advise - I hope they don't get a password and log on - but I do not think they were given bad advise therefore FSCS are right. I still think they should keep going you never know but deep down if it was me I would be saying to myself I don't have a claim.
