It is compensation for misselling of PPI. I would think they would have a good argument back again if people get into trouble with the loans in the future (including the loan to pay the PPI premium) if they do not pay off any of it towards the loans. I doubt there would be much sympathy then..
I see what you are saying Marshallka - they told me that it is compensation for the advise given - not sure if that means the same as compensation for mis selling the PPI - thats the point that I am still confused on - I was going to give them a ring on Monday again to see if they can explain a bit more what they mean by that statement.

I have been looking at Honey2's calcs and (might be me) the amounts don't add up.

    PPI £10479.00

    Interest 2808.08

    extra 61.82

    total £13348.90

    It says it is £12684.50.

    Have I missed something:confused:

Because its paid 90% of one part and 100% of another.;)

I think it's the rebate amount. Think i've got it straight in my head now.
It does add up to 13348.90 but they have deducted the rebate amount as Honey has to claim that herself
Just ignore me I thought Honey was being short changed.

    EDIT.
SORRY PINKNICO REPLIED ON THE WRONG POST

Thanks Honey2, If they just stick to their original timescale, I just have two weeks to wait and I can manage that! x

Glad you treated yourself to a wee something babes. It is good you have lost weight by diet but not good if you are losing weight through stress.

Yes I have now - the worst bit was we had the letter for 1 hour before we could open it because an unexpected visitor arrived - MY OH and I kept wishing the person would go when they did we both rushed to open it we were a sight!!!

    Thanks Marshallka
It was the insurance rebate included in the amount I had, but not in theirs as Honey has to claim this herself, That was the difference in the 2 amounts

It was the actual breakdown I was looking at not what she was paid.

    She actually received £11816
