Was your big fat cheque posted out first class????0 -
Marshallka, Can you help me work this out.
The new loan was for £42000. and the interest paid to date is £1650.00. Thats over 12 months. How much interest does that work out per £1000
The PPI amount was just on £9000.
I have rounded the amounts off for ease of calculation.
£1992.00 div by 10 = £199.20 interest.
My heads all over the place
is the ppi about 4.6% of the new loan? = £433 interest paid for ppi amount
With the difference in the two settlements (with and without) whatever that amount was this would be the amount of PPI that was carried over to your now mortgage. They would then work interest out from the date you settled I think and add the interest to date at whatever your mortgage interest is.
Don't hold me to it though busbyh, this could be totally different. Will be glad if you post up how its done when you get if repaid.0 -
Thats what I kind of think - there is no reason but to answer my questions with 100% honesty and be factual!. I fyou recall one of my posts a couple of weeks ago - when I was told the cheque was going out to me on the Friday, the woman had said once you receive your letter you will know what the situation is in relation to claiming on the PPI for redundancy.
This is what she meant the policy is in force and does not xc - we are being compensated for bad advice not of the PPI policy. Also someone posted (sorry cant remeber who) tonight that their OH has been ill for 4 mths - my letter also stated less £0.00 already paid in previous claims. If I had claimed on the policy and claimed for a couple of months then the figure I received would have been deducted from my compensation claim.

It was my OH that has been off work ill for 4 months. Does this mean we could make a claim.0 -

marshallka wrote: »How FOS would work yours out for a redress of the actual amount of PPI you were charged is that they would work the loan and settlement with the PPI (which is what you actually settled at). Work the loan out without the PPI on it and then what you would have paid in repayments without the PPI. They then take one from the other.... next they work out how many payments you made against the PPI and the amount is then added to the total of the difference above. Also if you received any rebate against the PPI when you settled this would be taken into account.
