    Morning all

    Welcome Maitane:hello:

    Happy Birthday Catznine:bdaycake:

The weather is not too bad here today though we are forecast showers.

Redruby, I cried buckets at Marley and Me too, thing is you knew what would happen eventually but nevertheless it was still heartbreaking!

Work day today, but just having a coffee and luckily it is my short day today so I finish at lunchtime.:j Going to the caravan for the weekend, we took it away last weekend and left it on site and friends of ours who are having a really bad year this year financially have been using it since Sunday. They keep texting us and seem to have had a really good time - they certainly have been lucky with the weather anyway:D I'm just so pleased that they have enjoyed it!

Sistercas hope it is nothing too major with the car.

    Right back to work now.

    Have a good day all

    Morning everyone :)

Happy Birthday to those celebrating

    An overcast day here today!

Now I know why I wanted to leave tidying under the bed! I attempted it yesterday while OH is away thinking I'll get the house spik and span ready for him to come home so we can chill out with tea and chocolate bread and butter pud :j BUT... while hoovering under the bed the worlds BIGGEST (and I mean the biggest spider I have ever seen in this house!) shot out at me and under the bed side table ... I am petrified of spiders, so much so they make me sick  ... but being brave I popped a sock on the end of the hoover and pulled out the cabinet only to watch it crawl in a little hole in the skirting ... so I blocked it in with a paper weight and put off going to bed until the early hours of this morning but I still couldn't sleep! I hope its still there when OH gets home so he can catch it :D

Got loads of washing to do and put on the line today, gut and clean the whole house and pack ready for my girly weekend in London tomorrow :D

Hope all is well with everyone!

nic1lou2 - How kind to let your friends use your caravan! :A Glad they're having a good time!

meanmarie - So pleased to hear about your DD's new job, that's excellent :T

witchwoopiggy - Have a nice time with your MIL and I'm sure she'll be really pleased with the skirt!

(((HUGS))) to hilstep and anyone else poorly.

    Thinking of you Penny_Pincher x

Went to Bluewater y'day to get some new summer trousers while there are still some about! Mine are wearing out and I had to throw my favourite pair away last week as they were unmendable :( I got 3 pairs. or rather DH did as he was paying :A and a pretty top. We're planning a trip to New Zealand in January so thought it best to get them while we could! We went a few years ago on a Saga tour (paid for with severance money) and always said it would be lovely to go back and travel around on our own, and DH suddenly decided it had to be in the near future before his mobility gets any worse. I'm looking forward to it now I've got over the shock :p

Bacon chops for dinner tonight - not sure what to put with them, I suppose it'll be spuds as I can't quite "see" them with rice, pasta or couscous

Hope everyone has a good day xx

    Morning everyone,

Happy Birthday :bdaycake: Catznine. Have a brilliant day.

I haven't posted much this week. I never seem to find the time when DGS is here. In between the time zones & feeling tired :D I get a bit lazy. DS1 was to have him this weekend but he's had to work so we've got him. DS2 arrived today for his 10 days off and DD is coming for the weekend tomorrow.

DH has been a bit under par this week. Hopefully he's on the mend and can start to do the long list I have made up for him. :D Our car is going in for a service tomorrow and we'll kill time at the shopping centre. A strawberry milkshake & donut will fill it in nicely. ;)

We're in the middle of a heat wave in Winter. It's terribly dry as well. This weather is crazy. Well hope you are all well & celebrations to anyone I've missed. <hugs> to those not well too. Byeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia. ;)

Hi all,not posted for a few days, seem to have been busy, but both sons are off to the V festival in Shropshire for the weekend, set off early this morning and its sooo peaceful.
Its been very stressful this week as DS2s ticket hadnt come (he ordered it in March off Ebay)He emailed the woman who said she hadnt been in at the weekend when they arrived,so had to pick it up from the P.O.She sent another saying she hadnt been able to go ,which he didnt get till yesterday morning as it was after 11.30 and we were all in bed  ,so he was running round like a mad thing trying to get another yesterday. She has said she'll send a refund.

Its his mates stag do,and DS2 was taking 4 others as well - luckily he got a ticket around 9 last night after sending an SOS out on FB.DS1 is also driving 2 mates down.I think theyve packed everything but the kitchen sink and are being very OS - they've got some bacon and sausages frozen in the cool bag along with frozen bottles of water,so should be OK till tomorrow, and plenty of barm cakes, and those sachets of tuna to make more sarnies, some pot noodle type things(yeuch, theyre not OS) which will fill a corner.Hope it stays dry...

I thought we'd make the most of the house being quiet and have invited some friends to stay over tonight- we'll go to the pub Tapas night which is very good value as far as eating out goes and its a treat for me.So I've been tidying and changing the bedding etc.

Not really caught up with the thread yet, hope exam results went ok.Hugs to those who need one.Maitane-welcome,and I'd get a Remoska now- I love mine :j and rarely use my big oven, and I'm cooking for 4 adults with a Grand.

    Afternoon all.

    Happy Birthday Catznine.

    Welcome Maitane.

I didn't think we were going to get to the Mensa meeting last night, as Mr LW didn't get in from w*rk til 20:30; but when he finally got home, he said we'd go straight out and eat afterwards.:A It's only a "drop in when you want" sort of meeting, so we don't have to be there right at the start, and we got there about 21:00. Little dog was fine while we were out (Mr LW let her into the garden to pee while I walloped a bit of warpaint on before we went) and I think she spent the entire time we were out sleeping on the sofa.:o
I'll miss her when she goes home on Monday. LOL I'll actually have my sofa back!

Usual list of tasks for the weekend, which will include getting the elderberry wine put into demijohns; and if it's nice, the grass could use a short back'n'sides, too. Plus I'll have to do some baking - the cake tin is empty, there's a shortage of HM bread/rolls, the Birsay biscuits have nearly all gone, and there's a huuuuge Bramley fairly begging to be made into a pie.

Mr LW's pal has asked if we can have Molly-Dog in late October - the family are off to Egypt for a holiday, lucky things!

Well, I guess I ought to get off my bum and do something useful.

((((HUGS to all who want/need one today.
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)

I know there's a whole remoska thread but would you seasoned old stylers recommend waiting until Christmas to get my Remoska OR buying it with the money I'm getting for my unused annual leave and starting to make electricity savings now? Especially as I'm moving into a house with a meter next month. My new house :D that I'm painting at the moment.

    Hello Maitane

I would def buy it now & you will save a lot of electricty by Xmas. Love my remoska.

    Afternoon all :hello:

Been a funny sort of day weatherwise suns been in and out all day and its rained on and off, ah well never mind at least I wont have to water out there tonight.

The girls loved the Lickey Hills yesterday we played hide and seek in amongst the trees and they loved it. Walked miles collecting Fir cones and anything interesting (to them anyway);)

Making fairy cakes in a bit with all sorts of decorations on, if any of them last long enough :rotfl:

    Lunch was pasta and yoghurt
Dinner is scotch pie, potatoes and loads of veg, and fruit.
I have never seen LO's eat so much veg and actually enjoy it. But they help their Mum in the garden planting seeds and picking them when the veg is ready.

Hope you are all ok, will post properly after we take the girls home on
    Sunday.
(((hugs))) all round and welcome to Maitane
