    Hi,

Thanks. It was hard but worth it, I had a reasonably well paid job though, did all the overtime available at work and also worked in a pub at the weekends to help pay it off, no holiday for years either. Now trying to streeeeeeeeeeetch the redundancy money until I can fully support myself from self-employment.

Your distant dream will become reality, maybe sooner than you think, and that day you will smile like you own the world :)
  • Cats fed, now it's my turn! Plenty of home-made stuff in the freezer, but got to remind myself that I only NEED fresh fruit and veg until the end of the month...nothing else. Might have a baking day tomorrow so won't be tempted to buy [expensive] rubbish if I know I've got fresh bread and cake at home.

Ok, you're doing great - why are you here again? :D

Not that you're not welcome, just you seem to have things pretty sussed!
  • To be honest, I've been dithering for days whether to post or not as I wasn't sure if people would mind me being on here re not... It's just that I've been slipping with the budget a bit the last couple of months, and I absolutely got to get a grip on it again (control freak, me? :D ). I've got money in the bank, but it's got to last at least another year, so I actually really can't afford to spend any more than what's on the soa.

The little money the business is making at the moment goes straight back into the business, so it's kinda self-funding. And if possible at all, I'd rather not have to take another job, even part-time, while I'm trying to build up my own thing! If I do a spending diary here, I'm hoping I will shame myself into not spending any more than the bare minimum! Hope it all makes more sense now :)

Before I get flamed let me just say again that you're very welcome to be here :D My comment was meant in a light hearted manner - diaries are a great way to keep on top of things and I'll be continuing mine once I'm debt free for sure.
  • Thanks :)

I've been lurking all over MSE for long enough to notice that the people on the DFW board seemed the nicest bunch! Now I've taken the plunge into diary land, I guess you're stuck with me for a while anyway :rotfl:

Might even be braver still and join the food challenge and the flylady thread (though that one terrifies me!)

    flylady thread

No idea what that is - think it's some sort of angry feminist housework squad? :D
  • lol kinda, it's "how to get so organised that your place is amazingly clean and tidy all the time without you noticing you're doing it" :D I guess I need to blitz the place first, then I can start the flylady thing
  • Right, plan for tomorrow, in order:

    - do the free scratchies
    - put the washing on (keep forgetting to do it for some reason )
    - bake 2 loaves of bread and a cake
    - go to the gym
    - clean and tidy up 1 room (don't know which one yet, might do some kind of lucky dip!). Might find more [STRIKE]junk [/STRIKE]treasured possessions to put on ebay
    - come back on here and make sure I've done everything on the list :rotfl:
