sounds like youve done this before :op
  • :rotfl:Only for the first time today, that was on an item which hadn't ended though. Guess it works the same for an ended one?

    Not another one of these.....

Can i just point out where your going overboard......the seller never lied to you, he never said you are paying x amount for first class recorded, he selected sellers standard rate, which means he can choose whatever postage method he likes (within ebay rules) all the seller is saying to you is, this is what it will cost you, do you want it? and you say yes.

a little bit cheeky in my book therefore to say well i only paid that because i thought he was sending first class recorded.

why did you think that? did the seller lie to you and say that? no you just made it up yourself and now wish to complain about it.

i disagree with fee avoidance but this is petty and pathetic (sorry) if you got a good deal stop being an ar5e and leave positive feedback.

lets take ebay out the equation for a minute, lets use this analogy, you go down to your local car dealer looking for the car of your dreams, mr car dealer has your dream car and great news, it's £2,000 cheaper than you can find it anywhere else, but mr car dealer says he has a £500 "administration" fee that the rest don't charge......would you buy the car off him because he's cheaper then report him to trading standards for extortionate administration fees? no you'd just grab the deal and run.

Same principal on ebay, if it's a good deal just grab it, don't worry whether or not the seller makes his profit in the postage charge or the item price it makes no difference to you, let ebay police their own rules it would save a whole lot of unnecessary arguing with sellers....i just don't see the point.

If they are profiteering out of postage that is against ebay rules. Who's to say what is profiteering though? Anything charged over actual postage rate is profit? How do you prove that any difference was spent directly on getting the item to the buyer?the argument that people know what they are paying for is just stupid. Oooh Err missus, watch it with the stupid!! I seem to have repeated this comment at least 5 times today. You don't have to keep repeating it, you could always just, not. here it is again. Oh good. Buyers are unlikely to know the full cost of the postage until the item arrives (as they wont know the weight). So what initially looks reasonable may not be when it arrives. As for the Paypal stickers. if a parcel arrives at my house be it ebay or not and the postage isnt on the label . i weigh the parcel as this effects whether I will use that company or ebay seller in future. Oh I forgive you, this has made me smile!! You can call me stupid more often, I like this!! You weigh the parcels that you receive? Ah babe. Someone needs a hug...(maybe a little obsessive but thats me. I dont like to be ripped off) I think you're fab! Excellent post! I like you matey.

Just go to the listing and click to report a problem and follow the menus.

Mine is the red bits. :rotfl:

great to hear someone with a bit of sense on here for a change - instead of some robot repeating "its against Ebay rules! its against Ebay rules!":T
  • Isnt the whole of Ebay filled with sellers charging much more than it costs to send  I just use common sense on the postage costs and if something is hugely excessive then I just dont bother looking...

yeh exactly - cant see the sense of the op betching about the cost after agreeing to pay it ?!!?

if I sold something to someone and charged delivery and I was working in that town the next day and hand delivered it ( which has happened ) would she then betch that she shouldn't have to pay postage at all ?!
