I've been trying to think about why I don't see myself as fit and it doesn't make sense - but.. I don't always (often) feel full of energy - although more than I used to.. I am not well co-ordinated - don't ask me to catch a ball! .. but then I know people who are out of breath walking up the stairs at work and drive everywhere.. so I guess I am fit.. maybe I should realise that! *have confused myself there* :rotfl:

Coordination is nothing to do with fitness....

Do you view yourself as fat or thin? Which are you in reality?

There's all sorts of measures, Squizz - aerobic fitness; flexibility; stamina; strength; body fat and its location ... and energy. Each one is a slightly different part of our experience - but also coloured by our pre-existing mindset. As Z is referring to, there's how you think of yourself, and how you actually are..... Its Complicated, as the site says!

I'm, er, inbetweeny! Bit bigger than I'd liked to be but I know I'm not fat. I think that thing that Gok Wan does is interesting, where he gets women to put themselves where they think they fit size-wise in a line up of different women, and they always get it wrong.

As for energy, really don't know where it's gone this week - been sooo sleepy the last couple of days, think it's mostly the draining atmosphere at work. Last night I just couldn't stop eating!

Lovely bright day here.. nothing much to report except I can't wait for 4pm when it will be the weekend :j

Hi Squizz! This is early for you.

You were talking about fitness - above you're talking about size - which is different (ooh, I'm definitely channelling Z).

I'm seen a few of Gok Wan's programmes, they are *really* interesting, aren't they? I'm a funny shape, and deceptively heavy - I look very slim, especially from the side, but my weight is normal (I really do have heavy bones! my dentist told me how dense the bone in my jaw is!).

As for 4pm - this is my 2nd Friday where I haven't had to go in to London, and I'm so happy I can't describe it - just the feeling of having a normal weekend off like everyone else (well, not everyone, but like I used to) in fact its a bit more, because I don't have any paid work scheduled today - so I'm doing that trip into town, and I'm going to get my hair cut!

Ah but Z asked if I thought I was fat or thin... and I suppose it does tie in with the fitness thing, as I am definitely not skinny and my stomach refuses to be flat no matter what I do - so I don't think I look fit.. although my leg muscles are pretty impressive :D

Oh that is nice having a long weekend, and a new haircut - fab!

Oh he did, didn't he! I must be a bit dozy this morning, thats the second time I haven't understood something I'm commenting on :o

My haircut is desperately needed - its so long since I had it done, my layers have grown out

Stomach muscles - they're really interesting. Sorry, its the anthropologist in me. I've heard a theory that it dates back millions of years, to when we used to be on all fours or in trees - the stomach hangs down from the backbone, like a cow or something. Once we learned to stand upright, there was no percentage in our muscle groupings rearranging themselves, so they didn't. There's also a hormonal influence on women's stomachs, I've been told. They're basically so awkward, they need very specific exercises to tone them. I remember having a flat stomach when I did ballet..... **many** years ago :rotfl:

My internet banking is playing up - said it didn't recognise details.. asked for new password.. STILL says it doesn't recognise details.. suspect their system has gone funny.. I hope!

Uh oh. Hope it works out. You're not going to ring them in a panic yet?
