Yay for the sums! I love the sound of your previous job asking you back to work on specific tasks - thats never a bad thing. But coinciding deadlines - not so brill. Hope all of that goes smoothly in the end.

The deadlines are OK really - it's a challenge (which is good) but so far none have gone wrong!

The second job thing is good, and it's giving me a load of extra experience in a different area - you never know when that'll come in handy.

On to the sums then for August:

I need to do something mobile phone-wise, i.e. not spend nearly £50 a month on it, and my phone is a bit temperamental. I probably don't really need a contract but it is useful to be able to get online on my phone, check email etc, for some work stuff as well as personal. I've got most things on Google mail now so could go for a cheaper phone that has access to that. I am still very tempted by a Blackberry though - think cheapest contract I can get one on is £20. Not sure how much I would spend PAYG.. hmmm...

Hmmph - don't want to be at work today! Mr S is using up the last of his holiday allocation and having the rest of the day off, and it's a lovely day. I don't have a great deal to do today - did have a really nice meeting with a student earlier though :)

Have seen a really good other job opportunity (via job 2) but unfortunately it's one day a week so I can't do it, interesting to know that such things are out there though - it's helping to train people in sheltered accommodation to use the internet etc.

Think I've decided what phone I want to get (£50 for the phone and £15 a month) but will have to visit the T-Mobile shop as it seems to be impossible to sort out online.

Wondering what to do this weekend.. maybe go and spend some Debenhams vouchers (have about £50 sitting there) and hopefully some outdoorsy stuff :)

  • Red I just got a 24 month contract with Tmob, 300 free minute, 300 free texts, unlimited internet, 20 a month with a Blackberry I LOVE it. I do pay 6.99 insurance each month but you don't have too. I think its a great deal and (sadly)very handy for e mails and facebook(I really am very sad!).

That is a really good deal Buffy, I don't think I saw that on the T-Mobile site yesterday, mind you I looked at so many different deals I can't quite remember what I saw! Thanks for that, I'll go and have a look...

Woo, payday - sig duly updated, total paid off for July £287.97, well on track for £795 for this quarter.

    Totals are now

    Cahoot loan (Capquest) £4074
    Barclaycard (Aktiv Kapital) £1246.22
    Marbles (Capquest) £2345.16
    Overdraft £855.29
    Total £8520.67

Had a little bit too much wine last night, I blame Mr Squizz because he didn't have to get up this morning! Seeming like a quiet day so far, which is probably good :rotfl:

Meeting Mr S after work to go spend the Debenhams vouchers, I need some underwear and probably a couple of new skirts as the ones I wear most often are a bit tight :o Think I have to admit that I will never be a size ten again and get some that actually fit well.

Having said that I could do with getting a bit more exercise, and toning up if not actually losing weight, have been doing loads of walking but can't find the motivation for anything else.. find it really hard to run in the heat, but I did enjoy the swimming when I went to that spa day last month, so will maybe think about swimming. Might be good for Mr S too I reckon..

Got back in touch with a couple of my old flatmates on FB over the last few days - must be about ten years since I last saw them - really nice to catch up :)

Isn't it lovely how people from way back are always happy to see you? Have a good shop, and a good weekend.

Where did the weekend go? Seriously, who stole it?!

Ah well it was a good one. Went to Debenhams on Friday but it closed at 6 so didn't have time to look at much. Saturday we pottered about in the garden then headed back to Debenhams for a proper shop. Spent a couple of hours in there, it was nice to look around unhurried actually and saved us buying anything in a rush - we even both tried on everything we bought. I'm not sure I should list everything I got, or the total amount - maybe I'll just say that we saved about £170 between discounts and vouchers. I am most pleased with my skirt that fits and my two pairs of Faith shoes that should have been £55 each but were reduced to £15.

Sunday decided to go for a walk so had an early lunch and headed off - it was pretty windy and we'd gone for quite a hilly route so was feeling well-weathered and exercised by the time we got back. Lovely tea of chicken curry from the freezer, with a courgette and green bean side dish from the garden.

Feeling very tired this morning and only done the essential stuff at work so far. Mr S is at home again which doesn't help!

Started extra work for job 2 yesterday which has been fine so far - nice to be paid about £10 for half an hour on the computer :)

Considering some sort of exercise challenge for this month (I blame Lucifa with her fitness drive!).. not sure if some sort of exercise every day is unrealistic.. maybe 5 days out of 7? Despite finding clothes that fit better I still need to lose a bit of the tummy :o Have downloaded timetable for the local swimming pool, so that's a start...

OK I've decided to go for 5 days of exercise a week, as 7 is probably unrealistic - if I feel I can do more though I will. It's got to be something other than walking to/ from work as I do that every day anyway, and it's got to be at least half an hour. Running from 1st-28th with the week starting on a Sunday.

So this week so far is:
    1) Sunday - hill walk, three hours
    2) Monday - lunchtime brisk walk, half an hour

    Still feel half asleep though!
