I can't see any 1/2* ratings left, checked a few times, still nothing, yet the DSR says that there were 30% 1/2* ratings (when run on a date report)?
I have no idea, another one of the strange ebay daftnesses again maybe? 30% 1/2 * seems high, maybe ebay have a glitch.
Or could it be differences in time frame, they don't actually cover the same period or something. let me go and try mine.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. eeek, my latest report comparing UK sales with overseas sales shows a huge difference for overseas buyers..my initial reaction was to panic and list all my items UK only in future.
For UK sales my post and packing average is 4.79* for overseas it drops to 3.33*, yet I still only charge actual plus a few pence. So basically I am being blamed for overseas postage being so high as set ny Royal Mail?
My item as described is also a lot different between UK and non UK buyers, 0.72 less for non UK.
Hm, like you I am showing 33% 1/2* post and packing for non UK buyers yet currently nothing at all showing for any 1 or 2 * ratings in the expanded dashboard. For UK buyers my rating for p and p is 88%.
Definitely gone off overseas sales suddenly and have just opened turbo lister to remove overseas options from some of my heavier items.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Strange, isn't it? Ebay says you cannot determine 'which buyer' left you those stars, but sometimes you can, if you check every so often.
I suspect it may be to do with the Special Delivery prices that the stars were for, as well over 4 weeks...
Another strange thing with DSRs I notice is combined postage buyers, 2+ items count as 2+ DSRs! (for the period I chosen which have less than 10 sales...) , yet the unfair thing is it is only 1 feedback. (Hmm, perhaps have to think about offering free P+P!)0 -

eBay cultivates the idea that we should be overly accountable to the buyer for our costs, I wonder how many of these people who feel it is acceptabe to contact a seller after a transaction is complete to complain would be so quick to contact a retailer elsewhere and complain that their postage costs were unreasonable?
I wouldn't give the buyer from Cyprus a refund, even if the postage is high, they paid for it so were happy to complete the transaction, morally they have no right to complain, I would take a hit on feedback than give them the satisfaction, wear it as a badge of honour, it may put off others complaining as they know they will get nowhere.
Absolutely :TLife is a coin, you can spend it anyway you wish, but you can only spend it once.

I think you are obsessed with DSR's soolin
A buyers mood on the day is just as likely to affect the DSR's they give as the actual realities of the transaction. So I don't think it's worth analyzing it too much:cool:

Except that the new rules coming in the Autumn means we are penalised if anyone leaves a single 1 or 2*. Really though I am happy as long as my headline stars stay at 4.8-5 overall as that is all a buyer actually sees.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. And people wonder why FREE P&P is being bought in
It gives perfect justification for ebay to raise more revenue under the guise of "improving the buyer experience".
The more people complain about excessive P&P, the more that ebay will rub their hands in glee at the thought of being able to raise more money by making more "free" P&P categories.
It's a very clever business plan. People are still complaining, so no guesses what will be on the horizon...
Maybe people should start complaining about the lack of postage discounts on the "free" P&P - we need ebay to start listening on that, and taking some action towards getting a proper shopping cart facility.Except that the new rules coming in the Autumn means we are penalised if anyone leaves a single 1 or 2*. If your fellow sellers are earning less 1&2 scores than you though, they will always appear above you on the searches.
I'm not sure why ebay have taken a fundamental rule of statistics (measure trends not exceptions) and turned it against their best customers. I was speaking to a Gold level PS yesterday - they have sold over 9000 items in the last 12 months, their DSR rating is 4.9+ on all 4, they have no negs and only 1 neutral, yet they are not classed as Top Seller worthy, because they have had 8 1 or2 star ratings left for P&P in the same period. And they post most of their items free or at a flat rate of £1...
And remember - those 1/2 star ratings will penalise you for 12 months - not 30 days like the current scoring method.<--- Nothing to see here - move along --->0 -

Goodness, I hadn't realised that. I thought it was still the 30 days. That means the Maltese buyer who hit me (I suspect) with two lots of 1 and 2 * will affect me for a whole year. I have found if that if I do a favour - like post abroad when I dont usually - its those customers that cause the problems. Be firm - dont bend from your rules and you get less hassles. If it were me - I'd not want to refund them because its their fault not yours but ebay isnt fair. Refund them, learn from it and move on.0

For sellers with less than 400 sales per month the 1&2* thing will still be reviewed every month on a rolling basis, this was confirmed by a pink on the PS board so once you again go above the threshold you get the gold badge.
I've 99.9% on 600+ and 4.9s across the board and I miss out as I have 3 x 1/2* for p&p. Now bare in mind that I post using free p&p to the UK!Terms & Conditions Apply0
