Have a couple of watches to have batteries replaced, but got quoted £7.95 in Debs.

Do any of you know anywhere cheaper - but with good quality batteries which will last.

    Thanks
Not sure about the CMK market but I needed a new battery a little while ago and my sister sent me a sheet of them she'd picked up in her local market (not in this area) with about 30 watch batteries of different sizes. I think she paid a couple of quid for it. It may be worth seeing if one of the stalls in the mk market has them.

PS. Obviously at that price they're not necessarily going to last very long but you never know...
Could you do with a Money Makeover?

You can sometimes pick up sheets of different sized 'flat' watch-style batteries from Poundland. I think Dad's only managed to locate his in Bedford so far, but it might be worth checking Bletchley or Northampton Poundland as well :)

In fact, the watch I'm wearing at the mo has a Poundland battery in it and it seems to be happily ticking along ('scuse the pun ;))

A good place for sandwiches is Bon Viveur in the CBX building just opposite Debenhams in the direction of the train station. There is also a newsagents, and a chinese where you can get a takeout for as little as £3.80!

Seeing as I am in this thread, did anyone hear about that man found dead in the bushes outside the police station!? Its a bit worrying considering there was a shooting outside it a few months ago...!

Have discovered sarnies roudn the corner from me - v tasty jacket spud. I may well have to start precooking jacket spuds and hotting them up at work. What to do about the filling though ?

Yeah I can see the back of the police station from my office - it was a bit of a hive of activity !

Does anyone know of any christmas fairs/fayres/fetes/jumble sales etc. at their local schools or churches? etc

I love going to them, and they are not all listed in the paper so if you know of any please post the details on here.

    Thanks

Aldi's opposite Rooksley Park has re opened.
Please forgive me if my comments seem abrupt or my questions have obvious answers, I have a mental health condition which affects my ability to see things as others might.

This has been moved this year from Queens' Court to the edges of Midsummer place - where you walk across from between Beaverbrooks and the Suit Co.
  • there only appear to be a handfull of stalls there ?
( have to resist the temptation to get some of the sausage though , reminds me a lot of last year ( pre moneysaving ) having Christmas in Prague. )
