I'd like to join in, I set myself the challenge of not buying any new clothes shoes (or boots) or accessories for 90 days from 21st Jan 2010.
I bought loads of stuff in the sales to keep me going, have a very full wardrobe and in preperation bought some new plain underwear and socks from M&S. So there is absolutely nothing I need right now. 90 days is only 13 weeks and I'm 1.5 weeks in already.
My rules are: No buying clothes, shoes (including boots) or accessories. Not even from charity shops. I can accept gifts or hand me downs. I'm not an ebayer so won't have anything coming to offset any spends.
I've recently sorted out my wardrobe (and footwear) and taken 2 big bags off stuff to the charity shop. Next job is to start rotating the things I wear to stop me from getting bored.

Hello all! I know I've dipped in and out of this thread, saying I'll give it a go and failing hideously... well, anyone who reads my blog will know I've started The Fashion Diet in a bid to slim down my wardrobe and fatten up my purse! My OH and I are saving for a house so this time it's serious. I've pledged not to buy any clothes for two months and think I can do it! I know it must seem like a rather pathetic challenge to those doing it for a whole year, but I plan to do it in these two month chunks throughout the year, with a two month break in between so I can buy new season clothes.
Anyway, that's my challenge! I'll also be selling my less-worn pieces off on my blog (link available on my profile). Wish me luck!0 -
Wow GrammarGirl, just had a look at your blog, you are really stylish! I need you to help me with my wardrobe (it's entire contents have taken over my room), my problem is at the age of 36, still not knowing what suits me. I still think I am 26 sometimes (or even 16)! I don't dress too young, just don't really know what goes with what. Off to read more of your blog, it's huge though!0

Ok ladies quick question, can you/would you wear navy and orange together??
I have a navy pencil skirt, navy shoes (which I've just re-cycled from strapped to slip on - I actually snapped the strap trying to get them on, was too lazy to open then) and a navy bag. I've never worn them as couldn't find much that went but I tried them on with an orange v-neck jumper and it looks rather nice, I also have an orange bag if navy is too much. I don't want to get laughed at in the street, advice please!0 -

Love the idea of navy and orange..Can I steal that one? I bought some Primark orange suede heels recently and have only worn them once so far, but like the idea of putting it with orange, may try that tomorrow..my only problem would then be what colour tights.....0
-
Not sure on the tights - I'm rubbish at putting things together hence asking if it sounded ok. I thought navy tights with the navy skirt and shoes so it is all the one colour, only problem is I can never find them!
You should see the other outfits I've came up with, I just need the confidence to wear them which is difficult when one guy I work with always makes fun at whatever I wear (he is joking - I hope) but still it makes you wonder if other people are thinking 'what the heck is she wearing'!0 -
