Hi all, its been very quiet recently- I hope that means everyone is behaving- lol
Still managing not to buy anything clothes, but I did buy a few accessories (decided they don't count as I hardly have any accessories and needed them to update some outfits)-
I bought a waist belt (have been eyeing them up on other people)- £5 from Tesco so can sneak the cost into food budget, 2 necklaces at £1 each and some socks.
How are others getting on?
Also my look book is coming along- I signed up to have some of the clothing catalogues sent to me so I have been enjoying cutting them up

I have bought almost nothing so far this year! Although I am not in the challenge now, I am buying far fewer clothes. Since I had a massive summer clear out, and sorted my wardrobe out I can see what I have and it makes it much easier to decide what to wear. I have only bought some T shirts (in the sales) for a summer holiday. I am still after a really nice leather handbag, but still haven't seen one I really, really love. I am definitely not impulse buying, and saving a fortune (and space).

Hi
I have finally had my cast removed from my ankle 2 weeks later  than it should have been! I was unable to get to the hospital because of the weather, still not walking brilliantly but I am without my crutches :j.
I have bought 1 item and it was a brand new Ted Baker tunic for 99p from Ebay and that was from my paypal funds for other items that had been sold.
I have not been into town shopping so that is good, because I have not been mobile & xmas I have piled on the pounds and everything is snug.
Hope everyone else is okay.

Hey Debbie, glad to hear you got the cast off at last!!!! There'll be no stopping you now!
Thanks so much for the Origins voucher, I went to 3 stores but none of them had received the 50ml freebie tube so I rang Origins to let them know - and they posted one to me! It's a great size and will last me for ages. :beer:Get to 119lbs! 1/2/09: 135.6lbs 1/5/11: 145.8lbs 30/3/13 150lbs 22/2/14 137lbs 2/6/14 128lbs 29/8/14 124lbs 2/6/17 126lbs

Hi Tara
I wish it is off but I am not walking too well as I have substantial swelling still, visit to the Gp's tomorrow.
That was excellent service from Origins, saves the voucher going to waste.
I just wish we had some decent concessions where I live as there are often vouchers for different things and there are no stores near to me.0 -
Hello ladies (& gents, just in case)
Just checking in to say I'm still going strong on the challenge. Am now on day 189 with 176 still to go. So over the half way point (although it feels like I should be further along)
It's hard but no big deal in the great scheme of things. I enjoy having the extra money - have started moving £60 per month in lieu of clothes expenditure to savings.
Got some Next Vouchers for Xmas and went to sale to see if there was anything I fancied - but there was absolutely nothing there that I wanted. I think I am getting more choosey as I now feel like purchases would have to be really worth it to justify spending (even with vouchers). Having said that I was particularly jealous of the top my sister bought from Next in sale. On the whole the January sales didn't bother me at all and I had no problem walking round town ignoring the clothes shops.
Might experience some difficulties around spring through as I start wanting to wear something different.
Determined to do it though! Many thanks for the inspiration Sharon0 -
Hi Ladies
It is very quiet on here, you must all be behaving yourselves :rotfl:
Have been busy with Ebay and made £172.32so very pleased although tonight I have ordered 5 jumpers and 1 cardigan from Lyle & Scott online.
The discount was 74% :money: 1 bought 4 lambswool jumpers, 1 silk & merino wool jumper and a cardigan, very plain classics.
I find that the cheap jumpers bobble, shrink and do not last.
They will be useful when I start my new job until I receive my uniform.

Kaz, what a shame!!!!!!
I have been sorting through my clothes and am going to think about flogging some on eBay - would it be better to list individually or as a job lot? Bear in mind that we are talking approx 50 items!
I suggest you try to avoid selling them as a batch if you want more cash. But of course some stuff may remain unsold, so maybe put the best stuff as seperate items and what isnt sold at the end do as a job lot.
Late last year I sold old clothes of mine and my sister's and her kids for over £100 altogether, the money from my clothes went to charity which was just over £50.0 -
Thanks for that advice, Chrysalis. I have been listing a few things - tbh I am starting with the stuff that is most likely to sell (S&G hatbox, vouchers etc) and will start on the clothes soon!! I'll probably avoid selling books as they don't seem to do well on eBay.
I'm aiming to make £1,000 on eBay in 2010, which is ambitious but we shall see. I've made over £200 so far including the vouchers, but it'll be slower going now with smaller profits on each item. Still, it's all money in my pocket and creating space in my house! :jGet to 119lbs! 1/2/09: 135.6lbs 1/5/11: 145.8lbs 30/3/13 150lbs 22/2/14 137lbs 2/6/14 128lbs 29/8/14 124lbs 2/6/17 126lbs
