  • Just checkin in:p I have been far too in (puppy) love and far too emotional to even think about buying clothes. All three bundles of fluff have now gone to their new homes and i'm very sad and miss them all :(

Have put a few pounds on recently and i tottally blame it on jeggins/leggings. I have been really living in them with cosy long jumpers and tunics, then last week i thought i would wear my lovely wide leg trousers for a change, but no, they were too tight:mad: i looked like an overstuffed sausage in them, (sorry, not a nice thought). So my wardrobe options have now been drastically reduced untill at least 10lb has been shifted. Come boxing day i will be living off fresh air:eek:, i simply can't/won't be able to afford to replace any of it.

Very jelouse of talk of walk in wardrobes:p one day.....

So how you all doing with the challenge???

Hi sharron, I sympathise and will be joining you in living fresh air!! :rotfl: Any diet tips to share?

I prob shouldn't be posting this in this thread, but popped into my trendy little local Oxfam today and they had just had a HUGE donation of clothes with the tags still on! I got my mitts on a brand new Mexx brown tweed coat (RRP £149!) for only £30!!! Dear for a charity shop I know (and Oxfam is the most overpriced charity shop imho) but would be a total bargain if I'd bought it in the sales! I am thrilled with it, it's gorgeous.

  • tara, that is a find even i would find hard to resist!!! well done, £30 well spent if you love it!!!

Weight loss tips?? me no, it's something i struggle with always have so i may need tips from you as your weight is teeny compared to mine, i dare not to add it into pound, it would just scare me. I think i will just be trying to have 3 decent meals a day along with fruit if i am peckish between meals. Trouble is i get really bored after day 3 :(

  • Hi all,

Caved last week and bought a new cardi from Topshop. Went to put it on today and noticed that the beading has fallen off the back - so that will be going back to the shop tomorrow.

Will probably exchange it for something different as I've lost faith in the quality of the cardi now and it was quite expensive.

  • Hello all
Hope you had good Christmases and are looking forward to the new year.
I went to the sales including the next sale but managed to be very restrained. All I bought were gifts to put away for other people and cards for next year. Did get some clothes for Christmas which were gratefully received.
    How are others getting on?

Good luck, I loved seeing a pic of your wardrobe. Would a thread like 'post pics of your clothes in your wardrobe' be allowed on this site? Its something that interests me.
  • Hi all, hope everyone had a really lovely christmas. :A

I am very proud of my no clothes buying challenge, and apart from one lapse, jacket in M&S, really need for "smart", I have kept to the no clothes challenge. I have even been sales shopping with dds today, and not bought anything. (well spent my chrismas vouchers, but they were pressies, so don't count). I hope everyone else has done well.

As a woman who loves a challenge, I am now down sizing my toiletries, cosmetics, perfumes etc!!

I did think BRIEFLY about downgrading/cutting back on my book collection, but that's a whole different matter and maybe a challenge too far!!:rotfl:

  • Vicki, a 'pictures only' thread would be great!!!!:T

Katie i read your challenge and think it's fab:T

Well thing are a whole lot tighter in the lovin2spend house. We have recently had quiet a lot of work done on the house and it threw up a (potentially dangerous) problem with the electrics that cost an arm and a leg. we used the overdraft to pay for it but of course this needs to be paid back! So the little bit of cash i was earning on ebay etc will have to go off the overdraft and not clothes. :(

It's been 4 months now since i started this challenge, and there has been highs and lows. It has made me realise that i am an emotional spender and love clothes shopping to cheer myself up or if im feeling grotty about myself. My plan for the new year is to try not to let my emotions get the better of me and deal with it more appropiatly!! (don't know how that is yet, suggestions please :) ) The highs have been actually using my wardrobe more effectivley. For example using different combinations with some surprising results and dying clothes and making tiny alterations such as changing buttons on a shirt to make it feel more girly and so on.

My next challenge is to loose about two stone to enable me to get into some other clothes. I will give myself until may, if not they are being ebayed (most were pass down off sis:T)

I was given some next vouchers for xmas and will ask for those for my birthday in march. This will enable me to buy a few essentials for my spring/summer wardrobe, but apart from that i will not be acquring any new garments untill this challenge is over. Wish me luck!!!

How are you all getting on, Debie have you got your cast taken off yet??
