Well, the HV came today. DH was home during the appointment, alternating between amused and annoyed. The HV asked me about 10 (I am NOT exaggerating here!) times if I was coping okay and feeling okay. I finally just said "Do I honestly LOOK like I'm falling apart or something?!? I'm FINE!" So then, she said she had a "questionaire" she needed to go through with me. First question regarding feeling depressed - if I wasn't so irritated at that point, I'd have busted out laughing!! (the infamous questionaire I was told about on here yesterday!!) So instead of answering the question, I just said "I don't have PND. I'm not going to do the questionaire." Her response "are you sure?" ?!?!?! (and stupid me, all I could think was does she mean am I sure I don't have PND or am I sure I won't do the questionaire!) She said I looked pale and stressed. I pointed out that I am anaemic (and have been for as long as I can remember) and I have a toddler and a newborn. I also was careful to point out (admittedly through gritted teeth, much to DH's amusement) that I would be LESS stressed if she didn't ask me repeatedly if I was okay and if I was depressed or not coping or whatever! She said (for the UMPTEENTH TIME) that if that changes or I change my mind about it or if I'm feeling like I need to talk to her, to make sure to call her immediately. Then she badgered me about when I was going to bring DS into clinic, mentioned 3 times that I needed to make sure to book an appt for myself and DS for next week (6wk check) and to make sure I get him immunised at 8 wks and that she "expects" to see me at clinic for that.
Well, poop on that ! (yes, we're using ADULT words today! LOL) I'm going through the GP, and I telling them I want NO MORE CONTACT from that HV. She's pushy, and when you tell her you're fine, she doesn't listen and doesn't believe you. I swear, it's almost like she wants people to have PND! Stupid cow.
DH said (after she'd left) "I can't believe you didn't yell at her and make her leave. She was pushy and condescending!" And he noticed that she brought in all sorts of stuff and kept leaving stuff like pens, paperwork, scales, etc all over the place where our 3yo could reach it, so DH had to practically physically restrain him to keep him out of it. You'd think she'd know better.
I refrained (barely) from pointing out that prior to her arrival, I'd already made breakfast, fed & dressed both boys, washed & sterilised & mixed up bottles for the day, done the washing up, and put on a load of laundry. Hardly "not coping" with everything. Good grief.MSE mum of DS(7), and DS(4) (and 2 adult DCs as well!)DFW Long haul supporters No 210:snow_grin Christmas 2013 is coming soon!!! :xmastree:0 -

Weezl - have you seen THIS uk version of etsy0 -
HVs are odd aren't they. Mine has pretty much abandoned me, right when I need most help. Then they go and hound someone who is fine and really doesn't want to be bothered. Silly!Stay-at-home, attached Mummy to a 23lb 10oz, 11 month old baby boy.0
