I have a weaning question...I know we have been talking weaning a lot recently
but there are lots of us with similar-aged babies!!
Can somebody tell me what texture stage 2 foods are? I bought a few Hipp Jars to see how Benjamin enjoyed them and they simply far too runny for usHe had a jar of porridge this morning and I had to mix it with a load of baby rice before it was anywhere near the texture Benjamin enjoys!
I wouldn't normally buy porridge of course but I was thinking of chucking a couple of jars in the case to make a change from toast / fruit / yoghurt for breakfast.
Then we had a jar of chicken and rice (orange mush) stage 1 for dinner and I was completely shocked at how smooth it was!! It was like soup!!! Benjamin has never had anything that runny before
So - if we move to stage 2 do we gets lumps and stuff or do I need to make Benjamin live on toast and bananas for a week!!!please listen to MFD - she is a wise womanProud Mummy to the gorgeous Benjamin John born 14 March 2009, 8lbs 14ozA new little seedling on the way, due 30 September 20120 -
As I remember next stage was lumpy!Too many children, too little time!!!0

We like weaning questions MFD.. just make sure you're prepared for when the next batch go through it in Nov/Dec
Speaking of which, saw these really cool dinky food tubs in Boots today.. Ummm, yeah, anyway...
Is stage two what the mini pasta shapes are for? Bulking it out and giving some texture?
Obviously, as a "not-there-yet newbie", I shall now wind my neck in..I just like the little pots..

Thats it - thanks!
Sorry Elle
MFD - I got a few jars to take on hols just in case what was cooked for us wasn't suitable. I got the 7+ age ones, as the 4+ ones looked far too runny! She's almost 7 months, and really enjoyed them, the lumps weren't a problem, so now i'm not mushing the homemade stuff so much.
I was expecting a bit of gagging - but nothing!
And she's still got no teeth, but the lumps weren't a problem. She even sucked half a crumpet for breakfast - I was expecting to find it under her seat when I moved her, but it seems she somehow sucked it to death!:beer:0 -

I've had a productive night, blueberry muffins are cooking, made chilli canneloni, leftovers for OH's work, and enough leftover chilli for baked spuds for tomorrow's tea.
Just gotta pay the rent now, fill in forms for Keira's nursery, work out the money for the rest of the month, get washing put on, and do the cats litter tray.....
Hopefully manage to grab a bath before bed!0 -

Mmm - I do have pasta shapes (Bl00dy Annabel Karmel!!) but going by the BLW theory of they shouldn't eat things that are too small for them to pick up I hadn't tried Benjamin with them yet
Maybe I should read a book!!! I am 'weaning by feel' and just going along any old howI have been to 1 talk which lasted 45 mins and that is it!!!

;):D
Ah, thanks, MFD it was a lovely service and even the rain held off for us too! Jamie was so good even though he only took a half hour nap in the afternoon and Poppy was a pleasure.
It was a beautiful day spent with family and friends.

Yours or the uber cute Mr Men ones for Chris?
Button, what happens next with nursery? Was today to make the decision if Keira is definitely going to go? When is her next session? Looking forward to it already (both you and her)?
