MFD - while I remember, have you applied for EHIC cards yet? Ours came very quickly.
Someone enlighten me...what's an EHIC card??Aiee it is just the worst thing when they are upset in the car! I feel your pain MFDI struggle with Elijah crying at the best of times, let alone when he is strapped in behind me and there's heavy traffic or whatever...
Thanks Bruno. We were picking hubby up from the pub and I called him 3 times in the 2 minutes we were sat outsidebad wife!! When he came out I was in floods of tears and made him sit in the back with Benjamin.
But as soon as we got home I brought Benjamin inside and he was just laughing at my tears  bl00dy men!!!
We managed to keep Benjamin up til just past half 8 tonight :T I am trying to move his bedtime back from 7pm to a time which is more suitable to a working mommy. He was really cute rolling around on the floor in his sleeping bag (we were convinced he would fall asleep after a late bottle with daddy!!)
Let's hope it makes him sleep a little later too. Last nights 9.30pm bedtime meant a 5.00am wake-up...which is fine by me!! I got a full 5 1/2 hours sleep woo hoo!!please listen to MFD - she is a wise womanProud Mummy to the gorgeous Benjamin John born 14 March 2009, 8lbs 14ozA new little seedling on the way, due 30 September 20120 -

Sigh, such dramas in my house... OH just cannot handle it when Elijah fights sleep or doesn't follow his routine, etc. She just deeply truly feels he is fighting against us, deliberately being difficult, if we comfort him or are nice to him he has "won" and learned how to manipulate us, etc.
So not only does she not comfort him when he is crying and crying instead of sleeping, she gets angry about it, and ends up storming in and shouting at him and then going and crying herself, while he is in hysterics.
So much of this evening has been spent with tears and asking me for ideas how she can become more patient with him, bar a minor interruption where I kindly :A took her to bed for some adult comforting techniques and then a huuuuge spider invadedI chased it across the floor with a shoe and it amazingly escaped out of the room. Cue more hysterics about how it is no doubt now in the nursery crawling on baby's face, etc
Aieeee. I have no idea how to change OH's attitude or help her be patient/not view it as a fight. All I have is talking (and adult comforting techniques!) which doesn't seem to be doing the job.0 -

Careful, tis not 'free', it's 'the local cost' - so free where they have something like the NHS perhaps, but some countries it can still be semi-costly! It obviously helps though0 -

I stand correctedNever have the misfortune to use mine!
Hmm.. OH keeps trying them "adult comforting techniques" on me.. Ain't working tho!Don't know what to suggest.. Is there anything (else!) your OH is open to? Groups to go to, books, relaxation of the massage type?

bruno we have arguments about this all the time too so your not alone. charlie is a nightmare most of the time and you cant leave him for a second and he has wrecked the place. i get very frustrated and loose my temper whereas OH will be calm until he is really bad and when he shouts charlie dives to the ground like a submissive puppy? this doesnt stop him as he jumps up grins and goes back to whatever he was doing. tonight we caught him after he had raided the fridge and was eating a yoghurt with a fork lol! What's for you won't go past you0
