Can I ask, MM, did they ever warn you of the possibility something like what happened to Dylan could happen with a planned c-section? With the emergency one, all I got was "You could die, we might have to take everything out, but you'll probably be fine.. oh, and the SCBU staff will deal with the baby" - no mention of what might be wrong with him.

Pesto was lovely thanks :) I was a little creative with some of the ingredients(!) and used peanuts in lieu of pine nuts and mature cheddar in lieu of parmesan, but DH and DB wolfed down mammoth helpings, so all was well :o:D

Sami, valentine warner, on what to cook now didn't precook his cherries, I think his pie baked for 25-35 mins...

    HTH

I don't think I realised your PG and birth were harder with ed :( sorry about that.... are you less of a fan of HB than me and searching then?;)

hello to all else, not been on much this weekend as have had lots of visitors, which has been lovely, and after quite good sleep we're feeling the effects of a little relapse. But mustn't grumble, because he's still been relatively good :D
ooh so I'm sure you're dying to share what did it cost per serving? (don't go working it out if you haven't already tho :))

thanks for the cherry info, I think I'm gonna cheat and microwave them for a couple of mins to soften them and save on washing up :p

it was only a bit harder, Chris was a very easy preg/birth and Ed was 'just' easy :p I'd still go for a HB if there's a next time (whilst crossing my fingers that it didn't follow a trend and be nearly 1.5lb heaver than Ed as he was than Chris)

Glad you had a nice WE :)

No warning at all. The only thing that was discussed was the extra drugs I was going to get to stop me losing a lot of blood again like the 1st time.
I did read up a lot about it after wards though, and 50% of section babies get fluid in their lungs and 1% of them get ti as bad as Dylan did. He was just really unlucky :o

ETA - whats the liklyhood of the same thing happening to you nesxt time ??

Apparently not - it was 1 in 2500 chance this time and it'd be the same next time and any other times after that. But I'd not so convinced by odds these days - there are so many things Rhys has got that are 1 in thousands chances! How much bad luck can one family have? Might wait til we have a run of (certain) good luck first.. ;)

    Sorry to butt in!
When I went to parentcraft last week the MW was talking about delivering the baby and she said that as baby was born it gets squeezed through the birth canal which removes the fluid from the lungs but if we had a c-section then there was a risk that baby would have fluid on the lungs. Made me think of MM - I even said to OH 'That's what happened to my friend on MSE'
I was impressed because that was just normal parentcraft and not even an appt with a consultant about a c section!

When I saw my consultant about my induction, he handed me a dated leaflet, gave me a date and was done!
A very busy Yummy Mummy to a 1 year old gorgeous boy :smileyhea

Where does the time go?
