Rocky Road to Debt Free Wedded Bliss!!

Hi Missymoo -
Thanks for reading and posting!
I am feeling pretty positive at the moment - The wedding was a very hard decision to make esp as it should have been this upcoming weekend, so at the moment i'm constantly thinking I should be collecting my dress, I should be doing this, and I should be doing that etc. Also I had prepared myself to be a Mrs and to know this time next week I will still be a miss is a little upsetting! but hey ho things happen for a reason, and I now realise what matters and thats getting into a debt free life so when I do get married and have a family we can enjoy it!
I've been at work today, only have a few more days before I'm on annual leave (original booked for honeymoon!) might do a car boot while im off! Payments have slowed down since the initial pay day so i'm feeling slightly frustrated, but I keep reminding myself that it is a slow process, I didn't get into debt over night and i'm not going to get out of it!
Hope everyone else is doing well X:j6 debts cleared since joining MSE:j:eek: Remaining debts... Very / Halifax Loan/ A&L / Virgin cc / Lloyds / Sister :smileyheaGetting Married 04.12.10 - The MSE way :smileyhea:dance: Making this house a home :dance:0 -
:j Hi!
Well done on the Very Catalogue you have got it down a fair way!! :T:T
Maybe you could ring around the banks/loan companies and ask them exactly what the policies are? Failing being able to overpay your idea of saving in a seperate account to settle early sounds like a good plan!

PAYDAY party yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay
carboots are great they can generate quite abit which is a nice surprise
.... dont beat yourself up we cant all make payments everyday
and the debt is going down i dont like to admit to my amount of debt because its HUGE but when me and jon had the lbm you can imagine as i said we cancelled wedding and married this year with our own cash, i still get angry at the amount i have but i cast myself back to when i had lbm and i cant believe what i have achieved and what i have changed and i often wondered how we coped but believe you me things start getting better still have another 2 years of working hard and spending excess on debt instead of excess on what ever we like but hey ho life is a lesson and this is a lesson il be passing on to my children and childrens children stay away from free cash its never freee you have to pay it back and they will bleed you dry
good day speak soon xxx

you're going great guns with the very catalogue, and every £1 or even less you pay on it daily is reducing the interest they're going to charge you.
I've got two loans with different companies, and neither accept over payments, so i've had to set up a savings account that i make my PAD's into so that i can pay it off in a lump sum. The current one i'm tackling should be paid off a year early fingers crossed.0 -
Hi Lemon tree, thanks for posting! I'm on A/L at the end of this week so going to make a point of enquiring about these loans!
Not been very well since the weekend, been in alot a pain, went to the doctors today and it would seem I have quite a large abcess :-(
Just off to make a PAD to..... you guessed it... the very catalogue!
